Dr. Mary Catherine Mailander, MD

Dr Mailander is excellent. She takes care of our two daughter, one with complex medical needs. She is very thorough and really cares about them and their health - also very responsive to any questions. Wonderful doctor.

Dr Mailander is caring. She is honest, she is direct. She speaks to my teenager(s) in way so they learn to start being independent and responsible for their own health matters. She spoke to my Son in detail about taking his regimented medication correctly to be able to see results and improvement intended by another specialist. She corrected this. She makes them accountable for their own part and actions related to their healthcare. This is huge. Dr. Banks and Dr McKay are super stars with this too. We love them so much too. This is a huge help to me as a single Mom. She explains everything clearly to me the parent and to the child. She really cares about the child and the parent as a whole. She ask the child a-lot of questions to determine appropriate care. It’s never a short visit. She’s thorough. She thinks things through again thoroughly. She is knowledgeable and very smart. She thinks outside the box in my opinion. We as parents often do not want to hear the truth and or what can… be done to make things better. We aren’t perfect as parents and we do not know everything. She’s sympathetic to this. The truth is how we can really help the child is by learning as we go. She helps the child and parent with this and does it with utmost professionalism and with compassion. I personally don’t need her to be my friend. I do t go there for that. Although I think she’s perfectly friendly. I need her to be my child’s doctor and when she sees them she is exactly that. I say this in response to the negative comments here about her bedside manner. She has good bedside manner. Your child’s health is all that matters here. And this doctor cares about this first and foremost. A lot. I give her 5 stars all the way. I also love all the doctors in this practice again especially Dr. McKay, Dr. Banks, Dr Gao , Dr. Gao and Dr Moyinahan, Dr Lee , Dr. K, and Dr. Mailander. All of them are absolute superstars! The Np’s and the nurses and front desk staff (with the exception of one this past Fall which was addressed) are awesome and so caring. This practice is fantastic. I have two peace of mind taking my kids here. I have recommended 7 families to this practice in 15 years and everyone is still with them and loves them all. Patrice, Delicia, Jazmin and Claire are my favorites in the admin staff. They are the absolute best ! Jazmin and Claire and I have a bond through my kids. We will be very sad to leave the practice due to my kids aging out soon. But the memories here will be forever. Gonzalez -Martinez Family.

As a first time parent we was recommended Cathy for pedestrian and within a 2 week span was told my child has “life threatening problem“ “abnormal issues” I’m all for getting what needs done to be done but all I said was I’m seeking a second opinion with another pediatrician, I mean that is legal correct? Are we not allowed second opinions? And she called child services to our house within 48 hours of that phone call, our babies 2 weeks old just think how selfish that is? She shouldn’t be a pedestrian because she’s just doing her job is an excuse as a parent I have my job as well to do what’s best for my child Cathy had a problem and instead of trying to diagnose it she made it worse.

Dr. Mailander is thorough and compassionate. We love her. She advocates for us and takes excellent care of our 3 children. We have been with her for almost 7 years. My 17 year old loves her and gives her hugs and states how much she admires her. An appointment is easy to get, too! As a nurse I know a good doctor when I find one, and Dr. Mailander is phenomenal. Book an appointment with her with peace of mind.

Poor bedside manner. Average clinical skills. Staff is just as bad. Can't recommend this doctor or this practice.

Dr. Mailander is the best in her field. I have three children and have been seeing her for over a decade. She is sharp, concise, knowledgeable, and can talk with any age child about serious issues yet in a fun way that a child can relate to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. She has called me in the evening to check up on the child (who does that anymore?!) Her bedside manner is fantastic. She can talk to anyone at their level and describe the issue.

I cannot sing Dr. Mailander's praises enough. She is so patient, has a wonderful ability to talk nervous first time parents like me off the ledge, and it is so obvious that she genuinely enjoys children - she has an excellent bedside manner with my daughter. She has always been accessible for all manner of questions and concerns (she even came in to the office to see my daughter on a Sunday when she was extremely sick). I highly recommend Dr. Mailander to all my friends who are looking for an excellent pediatrician.
