Dr. Mary Margaret Salvatore, MD

Certified by the American Board of Radiology in 1999, Dr. Mary Salvatore has served as an Attending Radiologist at Staten Island University Hospital since 2003. She completed her residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan and her fellowships in Body Imaging at Long Island Jewish and Mammography at Montefiore Medical Center.

Dr. Salvatore is the Program Director for the successful Staten Island University Hospital Radiology Residency Program. She is a member of the American College of Radiology, The association of Program Directors in Radiology, The Society for Thoracic Imaging and The Association of Women in Radiology.

Dr. Salvatore is actively involved in research regarding Lung Cancer Screening and is a member of The International Early Lung Cancer Action Program. She is involved in additional research for Roche Pharmaceuticals evaluating tumor size in response to new chemotherapeutic agents used for lung cancer. Dr. Salvatore is currently involved in a study using evidence …based medicine and applying it to the way radiology residents prepare for their on call responsibilities.
