Dr. Mary Nocero Scanlon, DO

Dr. Scanlon is one of the best and most competent doctors in Palm Beach County. Her ability to diagnose a patient’s aliments is above and beyond any other doctor I have ever known. She is as sweet as candy and has a wonderful attitude going above and beyond to help her patients. This wonderful doctor can be seen rushing from room to room giving her best to everyone. However, there is a downside, as her office staff and receptionists who are the most toxic individuals on the planet. Do not judge this wonderful doctor by her miserable and disagreeable support staff. From the time you sign in and pay your co-pay one is normally greeted by two fair haired verminous women with an attitude that would make a prison guard look like a saint from the Holy Bible. While I was sitting in my seat observing the behaviour of the receptionists it made me sick to my stomach as to how they treat people. God help you if you had a question as that experience is even worse and normally ends up in a tongue… lashing if you say something that they don't agree with. It is pretty obvious that the majority of people that come to the office are sick and in need of a small degree of sympathy and politeness. Not everyone can be easy to deal with, but when a curt and rude receptionist verbally abuses one it makes me wonder if Dr. Scanlon really knows what goes on with her staff. Short staffing may be the reason for being impatient and moody, but there is no excuse for rudeness. I hope this will change over time, but with the staff that are currently there I think that it would be a herculean task, and be compared to asking cows to fly.

We have been going to Dr Scanlon for approx 15+years. There is none better. Makes you feel like you are her only patient. She is our angel in human form

I love love love Dr Scanlon, DO. She listens, she cares, she gets you involved with your care plan and is open to anything you have learned. She is very knowledgeable and I have never had a doctor take more time with me to understand as much as possible. The only downside is that her practice has an antiquated phone and scheduling system which makes it difficult to get through and then backlogs make it difficult to schedule an appointment with her, which devastates me when I am in a crisis so I do have to keep a "back up", which makes me sad. Their office also doesn't have an online portal like many due where you can make / change appointments and review lab results, send notes back and forth. If that was in place then she would be the perfect doctor. I hope that they update.

Dr. Scanlon is like all the other reviews on here. She is awesome, very caring, and listens to what you say. So if she is taking time with you, then you do have to wait sometimes. So I make an appointment when I am off from school at 9:15 in the morning. There was only one lady waiting when I arrived. So I thought, great. When I signed in I noticed my watch said 9:25 so I wrote that down. Stupid Me, I did not realize I was about to be punished for being honest. My appointment was for 9:15. An hour goes by and people were called back that came after me but I did not want to complain. When I got in the back I asked another employee and apparently the girl with the long brown hair decided I was going to wait. Dr. Scanlon, you are the best and you deserve to have staff that treat your patients like you do.

She is very caring and gets done to the source of your problem . She will send you to Specialites and all things to get the issue resolved. She takes the time to listen and not just go patient to patient . She treats every patient with the Bed side manor that we all need. So be ready to wait for she takes time for all.

Dr. Scanlon is a great doctor but her front office staff is very rude, disorganized, and they have no personality

As per other reviews Dr. Mary has the worst luck with hiring staff. They ALWAYS seem to be rude and unprofessional. Dr. Mary is a great but really needs to hire qualified friendly people.

The girl who answered the phone was rude. She kept asking me why I wanted to make an apt. & I said bc I was looking for a new dr. She kept asking me for what reason. And I stayed the same info. I did not think that was hard to understand. Then already being bothered she asked what type of insurance I have. I told her the line went silent. Then when she asked if I was coming in for medication, I said I would be a new patient so I’m not sure. Then she said “I see we are not getting anywhere” since she was so ridiculously rude I hung up. She could be a great Dr. I’ll never attempt to see her again. Word of advice for any business. Who ever is answering your phone is the first impression someone has. Maybe training is needed & a bit more kindness.

I have been a patient of Dr. Scanlon for over 10 years and I love her. She is kind, compassionate, cares and listens. I usually go in there with a list of things that are of concern, and she will take whatever time she needs to listen and advise you of the best course of action. I also love their staff who are cheerful in spite of the fact that they are very, very busy. I wound definitely refer anyone to her.

We love her she is taking care of myself and my whole family for all these years she's compassionate and cares and cares about your well-being not just your body I would definitely recommend her to anyone that's looking for a good compassionate doctor. I would just love to see her not be overbooked because I don't want her to burn .ouy
