Dr. Mary Elizabeth Schamann, MD

Before my child was born I interviewed doctors to determine who would best suit us and I chose WNY Pediatrics. It was the best decision I have made to date. Whether sick or well the doctors and staff show concern for the patient and family. My child was recently diagnosed with a serious condition and doctor Schamann actually called me to see how he was doing, even though his condition was such that he had to be referred to a specialist!! The staff at the office is friendly, accommodating, and professional when appointments need to be planned or care coordinated. I never expected to need to in this type of care but the staff and doctors at WNY Peds have definitely made it easier for me to manage. Thank You to All!

How can you be a doctor and encourage healthy habits when you're 400 pounds?

Very abrupt. Doesn't have time for extra problems other than the presenting one. Have been going to her since my child was a baby. When visits were unremarkable, she was fine. Recently my child has had some issues, and it was too much for Dr. Schamann to handle...told us she didn't have time for this , huffed and puffed and rolled her eyes. This type of care was repeated 3 visits in a row. So, when we really needed care we felt like we were putting her out.

Dr. Schamann is a kind, patient, wonderful dr., and person.
