Dr. Mary Renee Tjarks, MD

I was referred to Dr. Tjarks during my second pregnancy because my current Dr. was no longer doing deliveries. I was a little nervous to switch because I was having my second C-section birth. She was excellent! She has excellent bedside manor and her appointments were efficient and prompt. She was there for me through every bump in the road during my pregnancy and very comforting. She even came to visit me more than once after my son's birth to personally check on how I was feeling.

I went to Dr. Tjarks for several years and she has delivered both of my sons. She is an excellent doctor and has a great bedside manner. She was very caring and attentive when I needed her during my pregnancies. The things I didn't like was that she tried to push me into inductions or c sections with both pregnancies even though there was no medical need. She even stripped my membranes without my consent during my first pregnancy when I refused a hospital induction. I learned to stand up for myself during my second pregnancy but had to fight for what I wanted even though I had no complications and only pushed for a few minutes to deliver my first. After my second was born I had some problems with new birth control and was in the ER and called her to follow up but was told not to come in. When the problem persisted and I ended up in the ER again she finally saw me and basically told me I had made it all up and it wasn't in the medical literature. I was hurt that she pretty… much called me a liar and more upset after reading the patient literature on the birth control and finding all of my problems listed there in the "medical literature." After that I lost my trust in her and found a new doctor.

I absolutely loved having Dr. Tjarks as my doctor. She came in her day off to see me and the baby. She delievered my second child. And she was there for me every step of the way. I wish she delievered my first baby. I recommend her to everyone
