Dr. Maryana Shenderov, MD

I happened to think she was very nice... Spent time with me , talk to me seem to be very caring... I didn't get what I needed unfortunately.. A c t or m r I of the back of my head would have sealed the deal.. I'm a tough case after you've looked at my history! Unfortunately, majority of the history is incorrect... Doctor's using my chart to diagnose me! She was very sweet and caring!!! Educated, not her fault. The system is failed... Not the doctor!!

All the other reviews echo my experience. Very dismissive.

My friend went to see her and the exact same thing happened - she was dismissive, disrespectful, rude, judgmental, and told him he was crazy (in a more PC way). He waited for months for an appointment with her. How messed up is that!?!? She has so many options on how to communicate with patients and she chooses to be negative. So sorry to those who she passes judgement on. Y’all deserve better.

This review is specifically for Dr. Maryana Shenderov. She is completely illiterate when it comes to treating tick borne diseases. Not only does she lack common sense for tick borne diseases (specially Lyme disease), she also lacks any type of bedside manner and belittles her patients when they challenge her tunnel vision mindset that is fueled by her ego. I have heard numerous horror stories about this doctor, including a friend of mine who attempted to take his life after Dr. Maryana Shenderov tipped him over the edge after she criticized him and refused to run testing on him because it didn’t fit her own narrative. Imagine if he wasn’t found before he died, that would be blood on your hands Dr Maryana Shenderov. You shouldn’t be practicing!

My son waited months to see this doctor becxause he has had Lyme Disease with coinfections for 13 years and has gotten really sick with seizures. This was his last hope that Johns Hopkins could help him. This doctor laughed at him and told him he needed a psychiatrist. she did not review his medical records or take a single test. Because of this horrible experience my son tryed to take his life. If you are really sick look for a different doctor because she will not help you.

Dr. Shenderov was negligent in helping my brother when he came to see her for care. He has chronic Lyme Disease and was in a desperate need for help ; she told him she would not run tests because he "looked fine"and then told him he needs a therapist for his anxiety. Doctors are supposed to be compassionate and point you in the right direction if they are not able to help. Imagine waiting weeks to finally get an appointment and the doctor laughs in your face.

Don't waste your time, she does not care about helping her patients in anyway shape or form. A total waste of my time,. Very clinical and cold. No compassion whatsoever! She knows nothing about chronic lyme disease whatsoever. And she represents John Hopkins, what were they thinking. I haven't a clue. Worst doctor ever, EVER!

My husband drove 5 1/2 hours from Connecticut to Dr Shenderov appointment today. Traffic came to standstill in downpour on 95 & we called her Office 2x to let them know we would be late in which they said fine. We arrived at 4:30–30 minutes late and even had a video of the standstill traffic in the downpour. We also had one page of abbreviated notes regarding my all over body rash. Her office said she was running behind and had another patient in there before us and we have to wait and they told her we were caught in a rainstorm, drove 5 1/2 hours and had a video of the storm. When we were finally taken into her office, I apologized And she said oh the traffic. I said no, it was a torrential rain storm and I am so sorry. She looked at her watch and said I have to pick up my kids. The rest of the appointment was very upsetting - she said I did not have candida at the outside , although I told her Dr. Kenneth PIER – outstanding dermatologist – had said I did and my primary care… physician in Florida said I am Meis go to my infectious disease doctor which she is. , She could not believe I had two other medical skin issues that my doctors at HOPKINS did diagnose,She also said I was not immune compromised even after three brain surgeries and A spinal epidural abscess, numerous iron and Avastin infusions at Cetera. She continued to raise her eyebrow and said well why are you here? When we tried to explain she said I want to know now your symptoms. She then said why didn’t your doctors in Florida call me. Both my husband and I tried to explain but she kept interrupting and not letting me finish a sentence. She said I was adversarial – but that is never my manner and when I said where do we go from here she just repeated that she had to pick up her kids. I started to cry and as we left the office her office I said I hope you don’t treat anyone else like this and I hope your mother is never treated like this. While waiting in the lobby, she walked right past us without even a glance. No bedside manner and so much more this doctor is lacking in health care and decent humanity and manners . First doctor I’ve ever encountered in my 11 years at Johns Hopkins who had such an angry attitude . All my physicians, nurses and technicians have all been extremely caring, polite and generous – So this was a real shock and very disappointing.
