Dr. Mary Ellen Maccio, MD

My husband and I have been trying to concieve so when we moved to the area I was referred to her. Not only did she say she would need to refer me to a fertility specialist, she said someone who has so many things wrong with their health (mainly health conditions non-related to pregnancy) like me shouldn't even have a baby. She then prescribed me birth control when I said I wasn't comfortable and then said I shouldn't get pregnant at all. She repeatedly asked me if I had a specific health condition and I said no. Then she asked it again, like are you certain? I had multiple blood test results on the screen which confirmed my statement but instead she was too preoccupied looking at and adding to the notes from a specialist I was seeing that had nothing related to what I was seeing her for in the first place. If you want an understanding gynecologist, run elsewhere. The horrible experience I had with her has me terrified of seeing any new doctor because what happened left me in tears. I… should want to see a doctor to help get better and have never avoided seeing one, now I don't know. Dr. Maryellen E. Maccio makes me not want to see her or any new doctor again.

Works part time so that’s hard. She is nice. Likely won’t deliver your baby though.

I'm pregnant with my second child and I wouldn't want to see anyone else. I absolutely adore Dr. Maccio and her staff. She helped us through a difficult miscarriage the first time. She's part of our family.

She drops you if you are involved in a lawsuit that she might be called to testify!!!

These people are always very happy but when it comes to competence they leave some to be desired. My wife had to drink a hi glycemic solution prior to a test but they forgot about her in the waiting room and when they finally remembered it was too late for the test so she had to come back in another day and do it all over again. Also, when we responded to the Drs questions of any (pregnancy) related issues we mentioned she had some minor acne most likley due to hormones changing. Well, that was just another opportunity to charge us extra for the visit. They basically throw every proceedure and expense at you that they possibly can. After delivery and release from the hospital not one follow up call asking how my wife was doing.
