Dr. Masaki Oishi, MD

I had a back surgery back in 2018. I’ve requested my medical records from this office with no luck. I was even told they will not give them to me. They would only give them to another doctor. They are violating my rights to MY records. I will be contacting the medical board to file a complaint. By the way my back still hurts

Mu experience with Dr Oishi I have been trying to get in a visit with him and cannot. I have even tried to see if I could talk with him and this doesn't even work. They tell me he is too busy. I hae never been around a doctor that is too busy to talk to a patient which I have been for a lot of years. I am really disappointed in him.

Had successful lumbar surgery and further related treatment by Dr Oishi which is ongoing. Although the doctor’s care seems to be knowledgable and professional, the office staff are quite a sharp contrast. They are disorganized, unhelpful, rude, and lack compassion or interest in patient care. They display no sense of urgency in dealing with prescription refills, forget/delay to process orders for hospital visits, testing or procedures. When called to determine progress on one’s medical issues they will lie and make up answers on why something hasn’t yet occurred. When questioned, they resort to blaming the pharmacy, hospital or insurance company for delays or mistakes. They are simply the most frustrating and rude medical staff I’ve ever had to deal with. They shouldn’t be allowed to have their toxic behavior represent this medical practice.

Who calls a Dr once a week for 3 weeks to get test results and doesn't get a call back. What type of back surgeon cannot supply you with a handicap placard? What kind of doctor never tells you about your test results? I had to obtain my results by way of a doctor who had nothing to do with my surgery. What kind of Dr asks his patients what they think I'd wrong. My issue had nothing to do with my back. Within seconds my new Dr immediately, without x-rays, told me to check my hip due to groin pain. While Oishi couldn't figure out that my problem was my hip and not my back!!! What kind of Dr allows you to remain in excruciating pain and cannot give you pain meds. Oh, and the office staff is atrocious! DO NOT GO TO DR. OISHI. Not only is he clueless, he does not care about you in any way so my experience says: STAY AWAY!! YOU WILL THANK ME.

He is a great Doctor though i can't say anything good about his staff. Especially his office manager she has been horrible.

Dr. Oishi is extremely knowledgeable and a very talented surgeon. After 15 years of suffering from neck and back pain I am pain free and living a normal life. In regards to bedside manor if you are looking for someone to coddle you and hold your hand ... Find another Dr. On the other hand if you are looking for a neurologist who will go above and beyond to help you please go see Dr. Oishi.

I cannot speak highly enough about the doctor and office. Got me in for an appointment, and surgery, solving a pain problem which has bothered me for years.

My son saw Dr. Oishi twice for suspicion of a bulging disk in his upper neck. He had been in significant pain for weeks at the time of his first visit. Dr. Oishi ordered an MRI and it was an important visit for my son when he went back to get the result and treatment suggestions. Dr. Oishi proved to be utterly useless. He may be good at diagnostics and surgery but when it comes to other forms of treatment, he does not help at all. He answers were general and he showed no compassion whatsoever. Maybe, all that changes when he sees chance to do surgery. When asking for treatment options, he gave the same answers as at our first visit, listed them without prioritizing. - If only he would have been a bit more specific to show that he cares. We had to ask: - How bad is a 5 mm protruding disk. - It was only then, that he explained that 3 mm is borderline and yes, 5 mm is significant. - We had to ask whether there is a chance that the disc will move back into its right place. It was only… then, that he explained under what circumstances that could happen. - Still nothing about treatment. - What should we do from here on? - What is a good treatment plan? Answer: Go go a physical therapist, traction, massage... - Can you recommend someone? Answer: If you want to come to this area. - How can we find a good physical therapist? Well, Houston is full of them. Dr. Oishi, thank you for your help. Houston is also full of really good physicians.

I limped for a year. I didn't know the problem was in my back. Mri showed pressure pushing on a nerve. After surgery, I had a tiny amount of soreness for a week. After that my pain was gone. Better than that is that I don't limp any more. I feel great.

Accurate diagnosis, Surgery Fixed my back pain. Now, i am back to full time work with no pain or weakness.
