Dr. Mathis Abrams, MD

I’ve been seeing Dr. Abrams for about a year. He diagnosed me with ADHD and pointed out the root causes of many issues in my life. He is very wise, insightful, funny, knowledgeable. I adore him and wish that he lives for many many many years.

He tried to prescribe a very high dose of ADD medication for my daughter when she was twelve. When I told him that her pediatrician said it was an overdose (about a third more than she should take) he became very upset. We just stopped going to him.

Dr. Abrams is very knowledgeable, caring, and professional. He was able to pinpoint my problems very fast and gave me valuable guidance. I am very lucky to have him as my doctor.

He gave me a poor diagnosis. After meeting with him as many times as we had, he should have been able to properly treat me and he gave me medication that changed who I was as a person and made me hate myself. Maybe the medication was right for my condition but he should have been able to tell that the medication's affects would harm me as a person. When I complained of the negative affects, he persisted I continue to take the medication. It took me a long time before I was able to find myself again.

Saved my life and my job. Absolutely brilliant.

I have has a few visits w him and as I get to know him I think he is a great person, very caring and a wonderful dr. He has been around the block many times and has a lot of experience. I like the fact, that he uses therapy as well as medication. He has always given me a lot of great perspective and I was able to make a lot of change in a short time.

Dr. Abrams is that, he has TON of experience under his belt, he's EXTREMELY direct but yet honest. He is not one of those greedy Dr.'s either. Has very good moral values and really cares about his patient's wellbeing. Spent a lot of his time finding a proper generic ADD med that is time released and is convered by my insurance (I have a cheap insurance that only covers generic).. and spent a lot of time educating me about stuff...Overall, could not be more happy w his professionalism and knowledge.

I was referred to Dr. Abrams after a hospitalization, in utter despair and doubting anyone could help me. Dr. Abrams quickly diagnosed my condition (missed by at least 20 other doctors) and literally saved my life. That was the first of many times he proved me wrong. I continue to benefit from his superior analytical skills. Therapy with Dr. Abrams is rigorous - he insists on precision - but he is no pedant. His greatest asset is his singularly wry wit, which he expertly deploys. He maintains a supportive environment, treats patients with great tenderness, and has patience in spades. On a practical (but vital) level, he is easily accessible in an emergency. Dr. Abrams is preeminent in his profession - a truly great man - indispensable, unforgettable, and highly recommended.

Well, this was one of the worst appointments ive ever had. and mr. abrams was really unfriendly and not caring at all. Never again.

I'm presently going through some very difficult life events and Dr. Abrams has been by my side every step of the way. He continually fights for me when I am unable to fight for myself and he provides me with the tools to keep moving forward. Dr. Abrams is kind, compassionate, responsive and extremely wise. He may not always tell me what I want to hear, but he ALWAYS tells me what I need to hear. It's incredibly reassuring to know that he doesn't give up and doesn't stop fighting - even at 3:00 a.m. I could never have imagined this level of dedication and commitment from anyone and, no matter how tough things may get, I know I am not alone. If you've taken the time to read these comments, I hope you will also take the time to call this doctor. They just don't get any better than this!
