Dr. Matthew Justin Axelrod, MD

I was hesitant when seeing him because I'd previously had negative experiences with rheumatologists. He took away any fears I'd had. He was personable, kind, thorough. He took time to explain things in lay man's terms. He answered all of my questions and never made me feel dumb. He has consulted with my neurologist and ENT about concerns I've had, and it really impressed me that he wasn't afraid to tell me he wasn't entirely sure about something. He even took the time to pull up some articles on PubMed for us to read and discuss. Such a nice guy, truly cares. His secretary Desirae is a sweetheart too.

Couldn't ask for a better rheumatologist. He answers EVERY question, never acting as if it is a "stupid" question, never dismissing a question. He always follows up with my neurologist, always let's me know my lab results. Has consulted with my MS specialist regarding medications. I hope he never retires. I've had several rheums over the years, finally found the best.

I have been a patient of Doctor Axelrod for over a year. He is wonderful! Spends time with me, answers questions, acknowledges when he is running late. (which is rare but expresses his apology when it happens!) I feel very comfortable calling Dr. Axelrod or his staff when I have a question. His staff is great.

First doctor since 1984 that has diagnosed and successfully treated my auto immune diseases.He is very kind, friendly and cares about his patients. I have been to many rheumatologists over the years and I am completely happy with my treatment plan...

I was diagnosed with RA and Dr Axelrod has provided me the very best of care.. He had a great love of medicine and compassion for his patients

Terrible experience with Doctor. Came to him with a previous diagnosis of vasculitis and he has destroyed that diagnosis and not only that is denying any autoimmune at all as I continue to deteriorate, lose my hair, lose my vision and hearing , and oral/vaginal ulcers and list goes on with systemic pain. He has been very reckless and careless with me and my healh and I have a team of Doctors who continue to urgently support auto immune suspicion with him. I am suffering so bad, I will be getting an attorney.

I spent 5 years searching desperately for a solution to my major chronic pain, and fatigue and I'd been to well over 10 doctors with opinions ranging from "its in your head" to "fibro? I don't know, take these drugs". Finally this Dr comes along who takes a completely different approach and slams a home run in diagnoses finding the cause to all my problems. This man basically saved my life (not physically, but as in that I didn't have much to look forward to otherwise). I can't thank him enough.
