Dr. Matthew Lee Blackburn, DO

My fiancé went in due to GREEN=bacterial sputum, shortness of breath, cough, dizziness and ear pain. Doc was very arrogant possibly sexist. Insisted she has a viral infection just like a few other reviews Ive read. He didnt have any proof to back that up, was very dismissive. Did not want to give antibiotics as he insisted she just had a virus. He just wanted to give cough syrup. Waiting to antibiotics is how people get sepsis and die because the infection spreads and worsens especially if someone has a low white blood cell count as we found out she did at the hospital. Ended up at the hosptial because she cannot breath when she is laying and has severe congestion in her chest. Come to find she has bacterial bronchitis. She was finally given antibiotics. Skip this doc and go elsewhere please.

I am leaving 0 stars but of course this requires at least 1. This 1 star will go to initial medical assistant who was very friendly & kind. Dr. Blackburn, this man did not appear as a Dr, worst experience ever. He tried to examine me 1-2 feet away, he even tapped on my face uhmmm WTH is that?!! He asked do you have pain, I told him discomfort from you tapping on my face. No one has ever examined me by tapping on my face/head. He spoke very little almost as if he was scared leaving the room before he could tell me anything after my exam other than it’s viral, no meds let me have nurse check other tests. I seriously thought this was a joke. He returns & says because you believe it’s an upper respiratory or sinus infection I’ll send cough syrup. I was in shock!!! I’m not the Dr, you are! What did you see?!? You ran out the door before I could ask questions. I believe he maybe racist as well in addition to not a true Dr. No manager available at this location, I was told they don’t work… weekends. I had a great experience in past with previous Dr but never again! I will def ask who is on duty or wait on my pcp or specialist. Dr Blackburn I will def steer clear of, I wanted to tell the other patients to run! Go somewhere else.

My nine year old daughter had to get stitches on her arm after a bad fall. Dr. Blackburn was so patient and kind as she is very afraid of needles. He could have sent us on down the road but didn't. One of the nurses there at the time, also named Mathew, helped throughout the stitching process, and was extremely kind- even brought her some cold water when she said she was thirsty. Wonderful doctor and staff; I highly recommend!!

Dr. Blackburn is very professional and has excellent bedside manners. My examination was very thorough and he was in no hurry by taking his time to explain his findings. I am very impressed with him! This type of doctor is not that common in this day and time.

He doesn't know what he's doing! When I asked him questions about my Condition he couldn't even Attempt to answer it! He said he would need to ask another doctor And these are basic questions
