Dr. Matthew Robert Brown, MD

I wish I could give Zero stars. There is a reason why Dr. Matthew Brown is no longer in his own private practice. He doesn't listen to his patients!!! I have seen Dr. Brown for 7 years, including 3 days before he closed his practice on Ingersoll. My fifth and final set of tubes were a pair of permanent tubes (to never fall out), I've had for 20+ years. On many occasions he made remarks that HE did not like that I had permanent tubes at my age, I told him to just clean the tubes. Our last appointment, without warning, notice or numbing solution, he proceeded to pull my left permanent tube out causing severe pain and bleeding which lasted several days. He dropped my tube to the floor before I could see it. In my records, in our last visit notes he states that the tube was just lying in the ear canal. Where did the blood and pain come from? Now I have severe diminished hearing in my left ear.

Dr. Brown and his staff were completely unprofessional and rude with my encounter with them. I would never refer anyone to this clinic on the level of disrespect that I had endured. The level of patient care on their behalf was very disappointing. Being employed within the medical field, I have been in contact with many doctors and nurses and by far this the most unprofessional experience I have to deal with.

The worst experience ever. Ordered for my wife the wrong CT scan. Instead of the throat CT he ordered sinus CT and we found about it accedently when my wife went to another doctor for the second opinion...!!!

My 91 year old father went to this office to have his ears ultrasonically cleaned. The nurse took his blood pressure and it was 195/45. My dad asked Dr Brown if it was a concern and he said it must be a mistake, he was totally indifferent, and proceeded on, taking less than 10 minutes to "pick" the wax out out my dads ears. When my dad got back to Calvin, his blood pressure was over 200! He could of had a heart attack on the drive home. This Dr is awful!

In approx. 2005, my young son had a tonsillectomy with Dr. Brown, and within a night or two of being home was choking on blood in his sleep and had to be rushed to the ER. It still chills me when I think of how he came into our room and we sent him back to bed the first time without realizing what was going on. I don't know how common this is, but it seems something out of a botched job or another century. There wasn't any real explanation afterwards that I can recall, but it was presented as a possible "side effect." If it is that common, I would think twice about having a tonsillectomy for a young child because had I known, the risk was not worth it. I'm posting so many years later because I still think about it and we were so young ourselves we just kind of went along with what we were told and didn't know what else to do. This kind of result should be on a dr.'s record somewhere, no matter how well-intentioned and professional he was. Thank you.

Matt Brown is quick & to the point. He's gentle with my children & has helped my allergy problems very well. I reccomend him to anyone.

I was patient of his dad some 20 years ago. Matt is a bit more direct, rapid fire, and excellent communicator. The surgery needed was extensive all around sinus, inside the ear, and behind the ear where brain was leaking spinal fluid. This was fairly rare to find than much infections and he performed like the best specialist could. It was a 3 hour surgery. I am happy with the results and the careful attention to the various special pain medications needs my allergies require. His entire staff are very nice. My son has had similar experiences with this business for his ongoing care for his allergies.
