Dr. Matthew Jared Cornish, MD

Ignore any negative reviews. I have taken my 4 children to Dr. Cornish and also many foster children. He is laid back and patient. I like how he takes his time to explain what is going on so that you understand. I also appreciate that he asks me what I might think and we work on solutions together. He’s fabulous.

Dr. Cornish is extremely rude, quick, and will make you feel like you should have never asked such a question or expressed a concern. We had several visits to see if he was just having an off day, but nope, he just has no compassion.

I've never been to a better pediatrician than Doctor Cornish. He genuinely cares about my children and will even ask how I am doing. He's knowlegable and up to date with his research. He's always happy and energetic and seems to truly love children.

Dr. Cornish was assigned to me as the pediatrican on call when I had my first child at UVRMC in Provo. I had schedule a circumcision the day after he was born. Dr. Cornish was to conduct the procedure at the hospital. I had my baby on Friday, Dr. Cornish came in on Saturday in what I would describe as "play clothes" and informed me he wouldn't be able to perform the procedure because he had other plans.---I'm quite certain his other plans were to go enjoy his Saturday. He spent approximately 3 minutes with me and charged me $95 for this visit. I then had to go into the Orem office with my perfect newborn for the circumcision procedure. Dr. Cornish is not a terrible person. He is simply impersonable, doesn't care about babies or you as the individual. I was a new mom, and needed someone to at least pretend that I mattered, and at least tell me my baby was cute and perfect even if he'd seen a million babies that day. We saw him a total of 3 times and each visit he was consistently cold.… We hurriedly found a new pediatrician right away and have been happy since.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! He could care less about your child. All your child is to him is a number. Good luck getting the caring you need during your appointment. I went to see him several times giving him the benefit of the doubt because we all have bad days. But no, I was never impressed. He was short and always in a hurry. His nurse is also very rude. They will also never follow up with you about your child. If you want to hear back from them you better call several times. I also know several other people who started going to him and then left. They complained about the same issues.

I switched to Dr. Cornish after taking my daughter in when he was the doctor on call. He is amazing. Very thorough and knowledgeable, but doesn't look down on you at all. He answers all questions very well. He Let's me know what his thought process is when diagnosing, and doesn't rush through anything. I switched to a different doctor because the drive was just too long. I am considering switching back and driving the extra 25 minutes each way because I can't find a doctor I like as much. The only down side is his nurse. She seems a little annoyed with questions and just not very personable.

Some people are nervous to go to a "NEW"- fresh out of residency-Doctor. But I beg to differ, they have a fresh outlook on medicine, are eager to learn & research & are generally EXCITED to be there!! DR. Cornish is very professional, attentive, & has a tremendous bedside manner with the children. He is friendly with the adults and is very knowledgable when it comes to how to handle anything from a new mom with post pardum down to an extremely shy 3 year old. He is an AWESOME physician, I would recommend him to anyone!!!! You don't always find someone who TRULY LOVES their job- he does & it shows!(he also has a FANTASTIC nurse- Cherlyl.
