Dr. Matthew V Davies, PhD

Dr. Davies relies exclusively on the questionable literature of Dr. Linda Nielsen from Wake Forest Univ. It essentially says 50/50 custody No Matter What. This idea has been disproven (i.e. high conflict cases are not right for 50/50). Obviously, he’s also a miserable person to be around. But that wasn’t my issue with him. If you have hired him as a custody evaluator, expect 50/50 custody with your ex (unless your ex is in prison or a registered offender, but even then he might still consider it). Those who are praising him were probably seeking 50/50. Prepare yourself with Linda Nielsen’s work and you’ll know what to expect in your case. Besides all this, he is late and unorganized (doesn’t remember that he made appointments) and is extremely expensive and slow moving. Note that he will not prepare your custody evaluation report unless you pay him several thousand dollars more. What good is a custody eval without the report? On one occasion, I saw him arriving to work in his new Range… Rover. I have a nice car as well, but my work is not (supposedly) “helping kids in the system”. I read the comments prior to hiring him and thought these were simply the rants of moms/dads who didn’t get their way. But I think most are true. Dr. Davies (as he insists on being called) is not good at what he does. He phones it in. He’s slow and unprofessional. And it’s incredibly obvious that he’s in this sad business just for the paycheck.

I do have an extreme case where petitioner's alienation techniques were vast and impactful to our two children. After many months of work all sessions but one was alone with Matt. I can tell you that Matt engagement was monotone, he behaved as if he was bored of the entire process, and he showed zero compassion for the parties involved. Moreover, as a very specific example he had also requested that I, the respondent write two letters on two different occasions to be given to the minor children in this case. In the end, it is my understanding that he never shared either letter with the minor children. To add insult to injury when I asked him to please tell me why he didn't share my letters with the minor children he asked me to pay more money. I can go on... Please - Choose another option. You will be MUCH better off.

Mathew Davies defines the word unprofessional. He lacks respect for his clients, does not reply and if he does it is one or two words, takes their money and does not reciprocate with time or effort, he does not follow the procedures & norms accustom with custody evaluations, and he makes blatant bigoted remarks. He does not care about the best interest of any child or family.

Dr. Davies is easily lied to. My children are now in a verbally abusive home where their father and step mother repeatedly criticize me in front of the children and also criticize the children. The children cry every time they have to go there begging me to make it stop. Unfortunately because of Dr. Davies 50/50 recommendation and lack of income I was forced into settlement. He is easily lied to, their father and step mother lied right to his face. It's NOT always good for the kids to have 50/50 parent time and unfortunately my children will now suffer because of him. My daughter and older son are already showing signs of rebellious and bad behavior because of this drastic change that they didn't want. They told Dr. Davies they would work with me and co-parent and they are not, they are doing everything opposite of his advice. The step mother and their father read out loud to the kids text messages I send their father and the step mother laughs and says bad things about me to the kids.… It's horrible. I think a Dr. should look at the situation, the time the kids are with the mother and should know if someone is lying to him. If the children have been with the other over 5 plus years and they are fine, grades are good, social life is great, they are thriving and happy, a GOOD doctor would not mess that up by saying they should change their lives and go live with a father they hardly know half the time. I pray for my kids every day now that they'll survive this horrible life they have been dealt . This has nothing to do with how things turned out because I settled and his opinion was never used in court, but I guarantee whoever is the best liar he'll side with. Do you think a father who violently breaks a computer in front of his kids with his bare hands because their grades weren't perfect is a good parent to be around more? Nope, but this doctor sure thinks so.

Very nice, intrest is solely for the children.
