Dr. Matthew Frank Gary, MD

I read good reviews about this doctor, but found them to be untrue. I traveled 3 hours from a different state to get proper surgical care post surgery that was done incorrectly by a neurosurgeon in my own state. A year later, and having had 2 major tests for Dr. Gary, he was clueless. I have been left in excruciating cervical pain after a year wasted. If problem were obvious, like a broken neck, he might be able to figure it out, but he is helpless if it is more complicated. How anyone gave this physician 5 star reviews I have no idea. FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR, and save yourself time, pain and money!!

Dr Gary changed my life. I had become basically nonfunctional, not able to stand for more than a few minutes and unable to walk more than a short distance. I had 3 laminectomies and a discectomy. The postoperative protocol that they had kept me relatively pain free. I’m now 3 weeks after surgery and am ready to resume my old live

Wellstar Kennestone has been my hospital since I came screaming into this world. I use only Wellstar doctors, until I found myself in the ER with my arm nging by my side, my leg not wanting to work, and my bladder defying my orders to hold it. Wellstar neurosurgery and Spine doctors, took one look at my many health issues and basically told me to get lost. So, after steroids and 7 days in the hospital, I packed up my MRIs, my CScans my xrays, and all the reports, a list of my meds, and all my many doctors contact info and I went to Emory orthepedics and handed it all,over to the doctor I met with. He took 5 mins to look every thing over and said to me, I’m going to put you the Emory network and I’m sure one of surgeons can help you. The next day, Dr Gary called me himself and asked if I wouldn’t come see him, that he could help me. I was I. The hospital the next week, I stayed 21 days because of all my health issues, and when I left I was walking, moving my arms and my bladder… was obeying me again. Dr. Gary promised these things he would fix, and he did. My contest heart and five stents didn’t scare him, my blood pressure didn’t scare him, my diabetes, Peshaw! My neuropathy, my weight, nothing. He simple prepared for all contingencies , and let his skilled fingers go to work. He is the surgeon we all want when we need to go u see the knife, he is the doctor we all want standing by our bed and reassuring us, he is young enough to be up to date on all the new sciences, but still old enough to speak respectfully to this scared 58 year Olde woman. I never wanted kids, but I wish he was my kid, omg, what bragging rights I would have with my church friends at Sunday lifegroup(that’s Sunday school)! Everyone considering spine surgery should research Dr. Gary, hehas so many accolades, I think he should be the surgeon general, no President of the US! Bet we would have an exceptional Health Care Progam! I guess I have said enough.

In December, the results of my MRI indicated that I needed to have emergency surgery but my consulting physician was unable to fit me into his schedule until after the holidays. He reached out to Dr. Gary who agreed to perform the surgery just I days before Christmas. For this, I am forever grateful. He was extremely thorough in explaining the procedure, which I appreciated as it helped to put me at ease. I have had a successful outcome and would highly recommend Dr. Gary.

Dr. Gary was a godsend to me. He is a phenominal surgeon with a bedside manner and care for his patient that is not so common today. While he is a very young doctor, his expertise is unmatched. Highly, highly recommend him.
