Dr. Matthew Aaron Kippe, MD

I spent 6 weeks waiting for an appointment that lasted about 8 minutes. Doctor walked in with two other assistants and he didn't even introduce who they were or why they were there. He asked me to "briefly explain" the reason for my visit and seemed annoyed and bothered that I had requested him to review my MRI results in more detail. Doctor was dismissive about my complaints about pain and discomfort for over 1 year. Poor attitude, very rude and slightly arrogant disposition. Utilized this doctor as a 2nd opinion but his dry personality and complete lack of bedside manner was uncomfortable. He could possibly be the best surgeon in the world, it doesn't matter, his interactions with patients needs major improvement. I will not return and I will not recommend.

Went to him first time, for my first exam I wasn’t feeling it with this doctor. I’m not saying he’s not a great doctor he is all business & bedside manners was ok. First time there he thought I may have a frozen shoulder which I knew I didn’t because I had full range of motion with some discomfort and pain. I was sent to get an MRI and sure enough I did not have a frozen shoulder. I had 2 tears in my rotator cuff and a bone spur. The doctor told me to try Cortizone shot which I had told him before I had tried Cortizone shots and they didn’t work for me but I did it anyway and sure enough it did not work what a surprise. The second visit, he saw my MRI said I had 1 partial tear and the report showed I had 2 tears in the rotator cuff and had a bone spur. I went to see another doctor & I’m scheduled for surgery with someone else. I’m sorry but I would not recommend this doctor. My recommendation is shop around and get a 2nd and even 3rd and 4th opinion.

Have a worker’s compensation injury that’s a nightmare to deal with but dr.kippe and his office are understanding and more than capable to handle the insurance company. All my dealings with the dr have been great, pre and post of surgery great now moving along to PT and I’m thankful this location is located in Dartmouth. JM

I would not recommend Dr Kippe to anyone. He was rude dismissive and diagnosed my injury as a strain. Two other Doctors felt it was a tear. MRI results after seeing another dr confirmed a tear and other underlying issues. He gave me a 1minute exam and suggested I go to therapy for 4-6 weeks and reevaluate after that. Two years ago same thing with my other shoulder where I told him he was wrong and sought another opinion which confirmed a tear. He took that personally going into my wreck today visit with him. If it wasn’t urgent I would have walked out of the office after seeing him walk in with a negative and non-comforting demeanor . Can’t give less than a star.

Dr. Mathew Kippe is excellent in his area of practice, and goes above and beyond for his patients. His knowledge and personality make you feel at ease. He is wonderful, and his expertise in his field are superb. I am so happy I chose Dr. Kippe.

I would highly recommend Dr. Kippe to anyone who needed shoulder surgery. His mannerisms are excellent.

Dr. Kippe very professional and knowledgeable operated on knee and shoulder. I have recommended this doctor to friends and they had received surgery and had great results with this doctor as well.

Would never go back to his office again or refer him to anyone. With the 2 visits that I did have at his office not once did I see him,was seen by his assistant. I was not even given the right diagnosis to the problem with my shoulder.Was brushed off with ooh you have arthritis,when all along I had torn ligaments,big difference.Lucky to get one star in any of the catagories.
