Our experience with Dr. Matt Larsen and Ascend was the worst we could ever possibly imagine. The PA noted “patient is markedly ill.” Dr. Larsen significantly changed our son's course of treatment and, after a two week followup, didn’t reschedule our son for over two LONG months. No monitoring either. Our bipolar son explicitly told Dr. Larsen he didn’t like how long it took to get back in to see him. Our son’s condition seriously declined. We desperately tried, with our son’s permission, to reach Dr. Larsen for an appointment or phone call only to have receptionists/gatekeepers screen out our urgent pleas. No-one called us back. Unfortunately, our beloved son took his own life before the two month appointment came. We believe that the lack of monitoring and patient contact were significant factors in our son’s death. We truly hope that Dr. Larsen and the receptionists that he has trained are willing to reflect on their actions and consequences so that another child might live.

I had an appointment with Brent Ellsworth to manage my medications that help with my mental illness. This was the first time in my adult life that I was truly taken care of to make sure that our conversation was thorough and we took our time to discuss everything. Normally with a doctors appointment they rush through things and it's like a 15 minute visit. My husband and I were very impressed that this wasn't the case and he spent a considerable amount of time with us and explained in terms that we could understand what each medication did to help with how the brain operates. I would recommend this facility to everyone that struggles with mental health and that are open to taking medications to manage the symptoms.

We are so impressed with Dr. Larsen and his staff. They are all very kind and made us feel very comfortable. Dr. Larsen interacted so well with our son. So happy we found Ascend Mental Health Center.

Staff are really polite and very kind and friendly. There always right on top of things. Wating area is very nice and clean. Which is nice and comforting Evan though you don’t have to wait long. And the doctors listen and genuinely care about their patients.

The staff is always super friendly and easy to work with. We can't say enough good things about one of the PA's, Wende Leavitt, she has made a huge impact on our family in just a few short weeks.

My son, Logan, and I met with Dr. Larsen last week. He and his staff were very welcoming and made us both feel at ease. Dr. Larsen really knows his stuff, and we have hope for a better future!

Dr Larsen has made a tremendous difference in our daughter's life. He is insightful and witty and he truly cares about his patients. We are so grateful for his help. His office staff is kind and helpful, as well. 5 stars all around!

Ascend Mental Health has been such a blessing in my life. Their new office is clean and comfortable. The Receptionist is a gem. And I can tell she really keeps that office on task, as well as the patient. I was wowed that she called me the day before my appt since I made 3 Months prior and if she hadn't called then I would have missed my appt. Both Dr's are fantastic and really listen to you, and genuinely want to help you to balance everything out. Check them out! I promise you won't be disappointed. :)
