Dr. Matthew Frederick Mccarty, MD

So, you go to his shop, and they let you think you're going to meet with the great and wise Matthew Mccarty, only to be sluffed off on his less than par partner (smarmy doesn't even _touch_ his attitude) or, even worse, his air-headed nurse practitioner. These people are awful. They live to take your money (they'll do things like say, "We can't really help you until we've run this test (they get a kick-back off of the genetic mapping test, for those who want to know... they get a percentage every time one who takes it!), but once we get the results, we'll sit back down and hash it all out!" So you're waiting the two or three or twenty-five weeks it takes to get this test back (depending upon who you ask, you'll get all matter of ranges out of these yahoos!). So, anyway, you're sitting there without your medicine, and you finally get the results back... you've already paid for your office visit, I mean, obviously. You took their test, said you'd regroup, so you should be able to… call in for an apt, right? WRONG! Instead, you have to pay for _another_ apt. And all the promises and suggestive help they offered to get you on the hook (like a big fat fish?)... well. They were lies. To get you on the hook like a big fat fish. Trust me when I say this... avoid this place at all costs. I was really sad, because I'd heard fairly ok things about Mccarty, so when I booked, I asked _specifically_ for him (and said that I'd also heard a lot of his patients were passed off to other staff). I told them I wanted none of it! Too bad they cared so little for my wishes. Then continued to prove themselves crooks (and also wrong on a lot of the medicine, too... which bothered me even more)! Seriously, though, this is long enough. If you don't have enough reasons by now, do more research! =D

This Doctor is one of the most caring and easy going doctors I have ever been with. He listens and explains!!!!!! Takes a bit to receive him in room, however, he probably spent an hour with me, which I appreciate and that would explain the waiting time - he cares and is NOT in a hurry with each patient. I would rather wait to see the doctor than have a Doctor who is in a hurry and acts as if you are just a number!!!!

This doctor Is completely unprofessional. I strongly recommend to not give this doctor your business. Requires you to take a drug screen (I have nothing against that). The screening Is unsupervised and I did not take one yet he stated that I was positive (spoke to two other patients and they stated the same). In the military all drug screening are supervised and the staff did supervise me or others place the specimen cup (you could easily take someone else's specimen and use It as yours). He also gives his personal opinion instead of a medical opinion. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR!

Dr McCarty was able to diagnose and alleviate pain others had failed to do so. Professional and courteous staff and office.

I saw Dr. McCarty (or one of his minions) once a month for about three years because he was the only Pain Management Physician covered by my insurance plan. Every month I had problems with billing. I never waited less than an hour and a half past my appointment time. I never once got a return phone call when I had a question or wanted to schedule an appointment. I almost always saw one of his nurse practitioners- I only saw him once a year. They mixed up my UA with another patient's. They wrote me a prescription for the wrong medication TWICE and one would have killed me if the pharmacy hadn't noticed. I honestly don't know why I didn't file a malpractice suit. Now I'm paying out of pocket at Seton and I'm feeling a MILLION times better.
