Dr. Matthew E Midcap, DO

11-13-19 Dr. Midcap is an outstanding doctor who takes care of pain in my back. I have had injections the past 10 years or so from Dr Midcap. He even came in early one day when he was off. I have received epidurals which have lasted about 10 years and a number of smaller lateral shots in the back and bursa. They have been extremely effective. My latest today at 12 was a point injection for a roque muscle in the neck. As I walked out of the office I was already getting relief, I have been getting epidurals in the back for the past 30 years. He is one of the best. So glad I found him when I moved from Maryland to continue the excellent care I had received at Georgetown. He's the kind of doctor you recommend to friends.

He has been ultra professional during my slot recovery from a chronic pain syndrome. He also efficient as is his staff. Everyone is caring and helpful.

I had been in pain for almost 2 months prior to my appt. My primary prescribed pain meds for me until the appt. Dr. Midcap performed 2 trigger point injections. I followed all instructions as I have had probably 40 over the years. In 2 weeks I was beginning to get the pain back and told this to the nurse when I called to report. Well, by the end of that week I had another"episode". The pain was so severe that I was doing absolutely nothing and was vomiting. I called the nurse and told her what was happening. Said Midcap wasn't in, but would leave a note. Told me to call my primary that I must have a virus! I objected and said the vomiting was from the pain. I told her I had a spinal migraine, which she said could only happen after a procedure. Well, I had been evaluated by a neurologist years ago and I knew what this was. The next day another nurse called back. This was at 11AM and they open at 7AM. He told me Midcap reviewed my chart and would perform 2 more trigger points in 2… weeks. I told him to cancel that appt. He asked why. I said I needed a doctor who was concerned about my condition. I needed a "real" pain management doctor, not one who would not prescribe pain meds, but treated the pain with muscle relaxers! This whole practice is a joke! In the past I have had epidurals for the pain, not muscle relaxers! Also, I am a former OR nurse so I know just a little bit about the body and how it responds.
