Matthew Popa, MD

This was my first appointment with Dr Popa and he was very nice. He listened to my concerns and went overall the ex rays with me. I would recommend him to anyone with a knee problem.

Just had a fall and have a potential ACL injury. Dr Matthew Popa was referred by the ER dept at Johnston Health hospital in Smithfield. My initial visit with him at EmergeOrtho was very positive and he made me feel very comfortable. The staff at EmergeOrtho also was very welcoming. I liked that I will be able to go there for physical therapy as well. I would have given a better review but my only negative issue is that I had to wait 3 days to get an appt there and then another 9 days to get an MRI. That’s almost a 2 week wait with no diagnosis!! Very frustrating!!

I would definitely recommend Dr. Popa to everyone. He takes time to listen to you and address your concerns and then explains to you the best way to treat you . I have been going to him for several months due to a car accident. Wait time is minimum. The ladies at front desk work together to get you checked in fast . This is definitely an awesome place to go if you need their services.

Dr Popa is kind and caring. He makes you feel relaxed and like you can trust him to give you great care. He also has sense of humor he allows you to see him as a person. He listens and he jokes with you.

Fixed my trigger thumb but hurt out of town &can't see that Dr.Wont treat me cause he didn't do surgery Compassion????

He was great! When I told him I hated needles and pain , he numbed it good hardly felt a thing!

I had problems with a prior knee replacement. He did a couple of tests and diagnosis was spot on. Extremely informative and helpful. Even when my short term disability got stupid and kept asking for more, he went out of his way to help me. I have the utmost respect and admiration for this person.
