Dr Matthew M. Reimert, MD

I have had nothing but an awful experience with this doctor. First appointment was okay, but I didn't feel super listened to. He did seem to think I may have one of the things my other medical team members have suspected. At the second appointment be did a 180, said there was no way I had *that* even though he had not ordered any tests for it yet. He was dismissive, treated me like I was crazy and I left crying. When I got the tests done, normally results are on My Health Online. When they didn't show up, I called to ask about getting the results. They told me I HAD to come in for an appointment. I went to my PCP and asked him to do a new referral to a different rheumatologist because our personalities clashed and I didn't like him. My doctor put in a new referral. This was back in spring of 2024 The front desk of rheumatologist office called me and said I couldn't switch doctors. I had to go over the hill, out of practice or pay out of pocket. It was said with attitude. I never went… back for a 3rd visit. I continue to suffer undiagnosed. I would pretty much rather suffer forever than see him again. He is so rude and dismissive.

Saw him four times before he ran any tests besides vitamin D. On the third visit he told me my complaints were in my head, I was experiencing somatization, and I needed to see a psychiatrist. On visit 4 I brought my husband, he tried to blame me saying I misrepresented my symptoms. Then he ran a Lupus panel and voila. Find another doctor if you are a woman. He discriminates against women and people with any mental health condition. As if my anxiety means I cannot possible know about my own body.

After meeting with Dr. Reimert I immediately new that he was different. Not only did he take the time to explain my situation but he was up on all the new treatments and he truly cares. After being in the medical system for 30+ years you tend to run into some medical perfessionals that can't listen to you or can't get you out of the office fast enough. Dr. Reimert has given me back a part of my life I thought was gone forever and removed my fear. How do you repay someone for doing that, thank you doesn't seem to be enough!!!

dr. reimert was my MD at the veteran's center in san francisco. He is knowledgeable and understanding and helped me with my gout problems. I am sorry he had to leave the va hospital in San francisco and move to santa cruz. I wish he would come back on a permanent basis. Far from being dry, he has a great sense of humor and is quite talkative if you are an interesting patient.

He's ok. Seems knowledgeable. I've only seen him twice. He seems genuinely interested in helping me. Very dry. No sense of humor or room for small talk. Very data driven. I would recommend him and will continue to work with him.
