Dr. Matthew David Scarlett, MD

I fell breaking my left orbital bone very near my nose. I thought I had lost my eye as I had no vision in that eye. Dr. Scarlett operated on my face where my eye had fallen down from my eye socket into my sinus cavity. He performed this surgery without cutting my face at all, so I have no scars. My vision was impacted for several months, but the final result was perfect. My eyes were perfectly aligned with no vision impairment. I couldn't be happier and I am so thankful to Dr. Scarlett for his outstanding skill and care.

Dr. Scarlett has been available to me as soon as I had trouble. He is quite thorough and takes time to explain every detail of what he is doing, seeing and what it all means. My family physician thought I just had a bad ear infection - giving me antibiotic. When it did not clear up, I called Dr. Scarlett. When he saw the ear, he knew there was more to the problem. He had to do surgery. After the surgery, he recommended me to MUSC specialist to follow my ear problem. Dr. Scarlett sees me still and I go to the specialist at MUSC only for the one specific ear problem. I would never think of going to anyone but Dr. Scarlett. My husband sees him as well and we never have had a time problem, long wait, or any sort of inconvenience.

I was told by an urgent care that I had fluid in my ears. After a week of nose spray I decided to call a specialist. Within a few minutes dr Scarlett found that I had an object in my ear canal, an old piece of ear plug, and solved my problem.

Charleston ENT has the longest wait time, sometimes in excess of 2 hours. I have had them cancel twice and once I went to the office and was told the doctor was 2 hours behind and I would have to reschedule. Look somewhere else if you want to see a doctor. Also Dr. Scarlett told me my records were too complicated and didn't want to spend the time to review them.
