Dr. Matthew Blair Schwarz, MD

I've been a patient of his for 10 years now. He's an amazing Dr and has gone the extra mile for me several times.

My husband had a sinus procedure. For many months after he was sick and could never shake the sinus infection. Repeat visits to Dr. Schwarz never helped and a second sinus surgery was done. Still he never got better. He was admitted to the hospital for the chronic infection about a year and a half later. During the hospital stay he passed a very small thin glass tube. This was identified as a sinus drain tube. Dr Schwarz was the only sinus doctor. We were told this was a foreign object retained. We were told Dr Schwarz said our doctor that it must have been from a different procedure not his. He took no responsibility.

I never saw the doctor, I walked out of the waiting room after 45 minutes. There was another patient in the waiting room with the exact same appointment time with the same doctor. Another patient who had an appointment for 15 minutes later than the two of us but who got in right before I walked out. I was told when I left that an hour wait is typical. I understand emergencies and difficult days, but I have no use for a doctor who's regularly that inconsiderate of patients.

Dr. Shwarz told me my symptoms were meaningless to him, talked over me when I asked questions, scheduled an in neccesary surgery without proper testing first, then called it off when I asked him questions. He is arrogant, cocky, uncompassionate and prepare to wait a minimum of one hour before being taken back for your appt.

Dr. Schwarz was an amazing physician and did a wonderful job on my thyroid surgery. He's pleasant, very knowledgeable and will gain your trust in an instant. His staff is very friendly however the followup care was bungled. They said that we'd meet with an endocrinologist in 2 to 3 weeks and that the endocrinologist's office would contact us. After not hearing from them in 3 weeks I called and they said they never received the paperwork. So I called SWIENT and had them "refax" the paperwork. I then called a week later to make sure and the lady on the phone said they received the paperwork and asked if I would like to set up an appointment. 6 weeks after the surgery, I'm finally seeing the endocrinologist.

Aside from the long wait - there was a large backlog of patients that day - I found him highly knowledgeable and competent. His sense of humor set me at ease and his manner was warm and caring. I highly recommend him.

Compassionate, articulate, skilled in Thyroid disease treatment

Dr Matthew Schwarz is exceptionally knowledgeable and caring. Most other specialists I met during my treatment for thyroid cancer, over last 5 months, did't spend much time with me or say or explain much. Dr Schwarz takes care of his patients like nobody else I have seen. He was checking on me early in the morning after my surgery. Their office is open to patients at smth like 7am to 7pm. It takes time to get an appointment with him because he is the best in Treasure Valley. But you can call in every day and see if somebody else canceled theirs.

I don't know if Matthew Schwarz is a good doctor or not. I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes, then I left.
