Dr. Matthew D Zawilenski, MD

WARNING STAY AWAY-Was scheduled for appt. that I did not make, Dr. Zawilenski's office now has been trying to collect $50 from for a appt. I did not make or attend. They now have sent this to a collection agency to try to RUIN over my credit for $50 from an appointment I did not make or attend. THIS Dr. AND HIS CROOKED STAFF ARE SOME OF THE MOST REALLY SHADY PEOPLE in this business-STAY AWAY

If I could leave 0 stars - I would. Unfortunately, this was our primary care doctor assigned to us. Thank God I figured out with an HMO how to change that. My husband went in limping with sciatic and low back pain that was going all the way down his leg into his calf. This was the first time he had ever felt that kind of pain, so, if your familiar with sciatic pain, you understand that it feels pretty seriously painful. He is a truck driver and that is a common pain for them. The doctor talked about the possibility of physical therapy, a epidural, and even surgery. Of course, we had plenty of questions. He did not give either of us any time to fit in any questions and would just keep talking over us if we started to ask. He was very unprofessional and stuck up. My husband was given a steroid and an anti inflammatory and some stretches to try. He was not shown how to do the stretches or told how many times he was supposed to do them, just a print out of pictures, and was interrupted… when trying to ask these questions. After we were shoved out into the waiting area, he realized that he did not even get a note for work saying he had seen a doctor. When we asked for a doctor's note, he then gave him a note that restricted him SO much that he wasn't even able to go to work because he was restricted from everything that his job entitled. Then, the doctor has the receptionist, Kelli (who was absolutely sweet and wonderful!) call back to let him know that "nothing" is wrong with him back. Well..wonderful. Then why he in so much pain? No answer..didn't even give him a round of physical therapy. How frustrating. So, then he needs another note to go back to work and he writes a vague note that the company did not even accept and when calling the next 4 days, Friday - Monday, the recording says the office is closed. Finally, he got a new letter for work that says he has no restrictions. How do we go from not being able to do anything, to oh, everything is perfectly fine. That pain, oh your back is perfect so don't worry about it. This guy is a joke. Don't waste your time.

I have seen him for years and he always has my best interest in mind. Excellent doctor. He is very trustworthy.

Since I am new to the area, Dr. Zawilenski was recommended to me by a colleague at work. I have come to expect long waits and abrupt visits over the years, so it was refreshing to be seen on time by a doctor who truly seemed to care. His sense of humor and professionalism made the process of seeing the doctor as good as it can be. The office could use some updating, but I will recommend him any time.

I have never dealt with a doctor that was as lazy and incompetent as Dr. Z. It's been over a month since I came in with a leg problem and he still doesn't know what to do. He is constantly out of his office and nearly impossible to reach. He has no regard for the amount of time this is taking and the strain being out of work is putting on my family. It hurts my heart to know a physician can be so callous and lazy. I am still in the midst of a circus of phone calls and appointments and I can only hope that the specialists he refers me to are not as incompetent as he is. If there was an option for -4 stars I would chose it, but for now I will settle for just the 1.
