Dr. Maura Frances Mcgrane, MD

I have been a patient of Dr McGrane for over 15 years and she is skilled and well informed. She consistently has treated me with dignity and respect. She addresses the whole patient and spends time listening to all of my medical concerns not just those related to gynecology. I have never felt rushed or dismissed. If more physicians were like Dr McGrane I feel patients would respond more positively to their medical care as she never seems to forget their is a unique human being in front of her not just another patient needing to be rushed through an exam.

Was not a fan of this doctor. My primary recommended her for dysfunctional uterine bleeding that has not responded to medication. Said I would really like her. I did not. She made comments about my appearance that I did not appreciate and came across as smug and seemed to have an air of superiority to me. Her nurse was not very friendly either. Also did not seem to believe me when I said I had difficulty with speculums and my primary often did my gyn exams manually. She did no actual exam and no blood work, only read from results that were a couple years old, then wanted me to get a procedure done and potentially treat me with menopause-inducing drugs for six months. While she does spend a lot of time with you and seems knowledgeable, I did not feel like she actually listened to me. I got a second opinion. Second doctor actually did a manual exam, ultrasound, and blood work and, while she recommended a similar procedure, it's less-invasive and she said she would absolutely never treat… me for my issue with the drugs that this doctor recommended.

My experience has been very good. She is kind, patient and easy to speak to. However, I see another reviewer complained about a procedure. My guess is it was an endometrial biopsy. If so, she is spot on. It is a horrible procedure and done without any anesthesia. I have never understood why doctors are doing this to woman - it is barbaric. However, it is in no way unique to Dr. McGrane. My prior doctor called me a big baby after nearly butchering and traumatizing me. Why on earth do doctor's do this to woman? Why?

I had an excellent experience with Dr McGrane. she is professional, intelligent, easy to talk to... I would recommend her as a provider

She was excellent. She took a lot of time, explained her diagnosis thoroughly and gladly answered some OBGYN questions that were unrelated to my visit. Nice bedside manner.

Ladies. Something strange has been going on with this whole hpv thing. Something is not right. I was tricked into a std test by another doctor. I was told i had hpv and it started years of bullying and scaring me into unwarranted tests. I ended up right away being sent to mcgrane for colposcopy where they could tell me VERY LITTLE INFO WHY THEY NEEDED TO CUT MY INSIDES. except i had an ascus pap which could be due to many things. She was vague and just kept feeding me lines that made no sense except to scare me about cancer. Its been 4 years of everytime I called my gyno wanting hormones checked. They insist on biopsies but I feel fine no consistent irregular bleeding Its not just mcgrane its everywhere. Something is very fishy...... We need to be aware

I've know Dr. McGrane as a patient and an associate. She can be very manipulative with her patients if they find any fault with her diagnosis or opinions, be careful. She can be very slow with following up on patient results.

Dr mcgrane lied to me about hpv. Told me I was NOT ALLOWED the gardasil vaccine to protect myself which years later I have been informed that I can get it off label or if my dr will give it to me. This woman left me out here beleiving untrue things. She lied about things too. Do not trust this dr. She did a colposcopsy I did not need by scaring me into it. STAY AWAY.

I had a so called hpv reading and not even sexually active. But my pap was fine. I was told I NEEDED a colposcopy. I told her I did not want to if my pap was fine but she insisted scaring me into it. I did the test with lingering problems only to learn weeks later that this disease usually clears on its on and only if pap is bad should i b worried. Be CAREFUL WITH DRS. THEIR TESTS DO MORE HARM
