Dr. Maureen Cernadas, MD

During my delivery I was so nervous I was shaking like a leaf. Never once did she make me feel comfortable or relaxed. She was rude, making sarcastic comments and caused me unbearable pain because she was in a rush. I will always have birth trauma because of her. I loved every doctor I saw in that practice and left it because of my experience with Dr. Cernadas. If you are reading this, shame on you for making first time moms feel so awful and scared during their delivery.

Operating day she seemed okay. Follow up was a different person, very unprofessional. Makes sense that there are glowing and horrible reviews here, with no middle ground, and that is what I encountered. When I asked about details of the operation after, she started to talk to me loudly and slowly, as if I am a senior, and she is older than me. What was that? Do yourself a favor and use another doctor, one who you can trust, one who acts professional when there are no witnesses.

I had a late miscarriage/stillbirth. Dr. Cernadas was the person to tell me there was no heart beat. Sure, I get that is hard. However, after rushing me out of her office telling me she would call me the next morning with a surgery time (which I was never called with), I ended up having to go to the emergency room to be seen by a physician. She was unavailable the next morning to speak with. Still, I could not get me the surgery I needed. I waited five days with a dead baby inside of me for a D&E (surgical removal of a baby in the second trimester) and had to different hospital and county an hour away. Talk about traumatizing? Choose providers and judge them based on how the react in the toughest of times, not when things are easy. No compassion, no follow up, nothing. Bedside manner was garbage. Human empathy.. none. Retire and make room for a generation of physicians who care about the emotional and physical well being of their patients. I hope she sees this, but it won’t matter… because I know she does not care. She needs to have her license revoked. Women’s health needs to do better.

It's extremely difficult to get an annual appointment. Her office does not schedule appointments until 2-3 months out but Dr. Cernadas availability is six months out. That pushes me into the next year missing my annual and making it 1 1/2 year annual. Not happy but what to do...

My experience with Dr. Cernadas was the worst I've ever had with a medical professional. I've had a rough road the past couple of years, including surgery and miscarriages, and I went to Dr Cernadas on the recommendation of my fertility clinic to address concerns from my last round of IVF. She was incredibly impatient with my questions, and did not take the time or energy to actually listen or think through the range of symptoms I was presenting. Worse, her bedside manner was horrible and she lacked a basic level of compassion. By the time we got to my physical exam I was crying, and got to the point where I could hardly speak - she proceeded with a pelvic exam despite this, never asking if I was ok. Normally I would have ended the visit and protected myself, but I was very upset and did not feel able to act in the moment. She did not say goodbye, wish me luck, or otherwise close the visit. I am truly appalled at her lack of care and compassion.

She is amazing, she was our doctor during my pregnancy time, always gave the best attention, my C-section is perfect, I would said, more than perfect. Thank you Doc Cernadas.

Loooove Dr Cernadas but it is almost a miracle to get an appoitment with her. Last year I had to look for another doctor because I could not make one. Staff is not helpful at all.

I had been going to Brunswick Hills for 20+ years since I was a teenager. At the age of 25, I was dx with fibroids by Dr. Goldberg and had a myomectomy. Then, he left the practice & I started seeing Dr. Cernadas. BIG mistake! I could not believe a female could be so dismissive of uterine diseases. After years & years of agonizing pain, she told me to 'suck it up.' Seriously! Well, I went back to Dr. Goldberg and turns out I have adenomyosis & it is so bad I need a hysterectomy at 39. Perhaps if Dr. Cernadas took a little more time listening to her patients rather than telling them to 'suck it up' maybe this disease could have been treated and maybe I could have saved my uterus and had a baby. Would not see her again if my life depended on it.
