Dr. Maureen Girgis, MD

Maureen Girgis canceled my appointment while I was in the video call waiting room despite me being present. I entered the video call through my computer before she canceled around the allotted appointment time and then again later through my phone and she never showed up. She claimed that I wasn't picking up my calls prior to the appointment and that I wasn't available, HOWEVER I was in the video call the entire time and I also have severe throat issues which prevent me from speaking. I really don't appreciate how Kaiser does not accommodate those with speech-related disabilities. If I had taken her calls and said anything, I would've worsened my throat condition. Keep in mind that my throat issues are why I'm going to the doctor in the first place. I also cannot have family members take the call for me as they are busy during the day. This is blatantly unfair and this lack of accommodation forces disabled people to worsen their disabilities just to get necessary medical care.
