I was born at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, and grew up as a U.S. Army dependent. I have lived on the East Coast, the West Coast, and overseas. I have been in San Diego since the early 80s. Before I went into medicine, I was a schoolteacher. I was the oldest of seven children and now have five children of my own.
