Dr. Maxwell Alan Helfgott, MD

I have been going to Dr Helfgott for many years both in the DC office and now in Tower Oaks. I have had two cataracts removed, an ocular shot, treatment for inflammation from the removal of a retinal membrane. I recently went to Johns Hopkins for a completely different reason not involving my eyes but they did a couple of tests of eyes in investigating Sjogrens disease which I did not have. Although the Wilmer Eye Institute at Hopkins is world renown I will not feel comfortable until I review results and recommendations with Dr Helfgott.

Dr. Helfgott removed a chalazion cyst from my eye, which was botched by another group of doctors. He was warm, attentive, concerned. Most importantly, my eye surgery was painless! I highly recommend him!

I saw him because my eye and eyelid were really sore and my eye was extremely bloodshot, he told me it was a scratched cornea and gave me some eye drops. I found him to be so extremely kind and would definately go back to him again

I started going to this practice with dr Helgott's father, in 3rd grade and am still going to Dr Max Helfgott in my 60s. I have had LASIK with him, an eye trauma due to a dog scratching my eye, and a cataract removal. He spotted a membrane over my retina and scheduled an immediate surgery. Glaucoma runs in my family so I am checked regularly. I know I am in competent hands and trust him implicitly .

He is the best Doctor we have ever used
