Dr. Mayyada Faizah Holt, MD

I had been seeing Dr. Holt for two years, and at first I found her to be pretty much like any other doctor. You get in and get out. That is, until I went in with specific issues. The first year I pretty much just talked about diabetes, went in for a physical, blood work. However, in my second year, I started having issues and I would bring them up to her and she would just dismiss them as nothing. I found myself leaving her office feeling sort of deflated and wondering what over the counter medicine to take to help my situation. I knew something was wrong, but I had no way of finding out what because not only did she dismiss my concerns, she would not even send for xrays or any testing to verify one way or another. It wasn't until I went in for a second time regarding severe neck, shoulder, and elbow pain. Again, this lady wanted to send me away with no answers at all. It was then that I realized that she was not going to help me at all, and I confronted her on it. I told her that I… was there to see her six months ago regarding neck pain, and now here we are with a condition worse than it needed to be had she addressed it. I also wanted to help with weight loss. Again, she dismissed it by telling me it was a long process and I probably wouldn't qualify for the medicine I needed. Well, that wasn't what she told me six months ago. She told me I needed to get my A1c down, and I did. So when I confronted her on that she then informed me that she did not want to have to put in a lot of work for me to get the medicine I needed only for me to be denied. She said she would've wasted all her time on paperwork. I said to her, well, is that what you're concerned about, putting in work and wasting your time? That's when I told her I was not going to use that facility anymore. That I was not coming in to see her anymore because she didn't care about me or my well-being. All of a sudden, I had xrays scheduled, CT scans scheduled, blood work scheduled, and a prescription for the medicine I needed, which I qualified for. It wasn't even the slightest of a problem. Come to find out, once she actually took a look at my chart, she saw that I had coverage for it. Once I got home I went on the Kaiser portal to change doctors. I never want to see her again in life. She was so condescending and more dismissive than I have ever seen in a doctor in my life. I just want people to know my experience so they won't be surprised at the way she may treat you.
