Dr. Meagan W. Vermeulen, MD

She is one of the best doctors I have ever had, kind, knowledgeable. I have not been disappointed with her level of care.

Although the office is antiquated and the staff is less than helpful, this review is supposed to be about Dr. Meagan, not the office. Dr. Meagan goes above and beyond for her patients. We have been patients at Wenonah Medical for 28 years and she is the BEST. My mother was under her care during her 3 year battle with Breast Cancer. Dr. Meagan teamed up with my mom's cancer doctor, heart doctor and surgeons when it came to making decisions about her care. She came to the hospital on days off just to check in and keep my mom's spirits high. My mom loved her and my family values her so much we are moving to her Delaware practice. I cannot for one minute believe those negative reviews!!

I have been seeing Dr.Vermeulen for about 7 yrs. and I think she is very caring and thorough. She would always send me for tests that she thought I needed. Thankfully for her, she suggested I see a Neurosurgeon who found a herniated disk for which I had surgery. Unfortunately, she has left the practice and I was never even informed. I am also leaving the office,(which is very small and dated,) because the staff is very rude. You are stuck on hold for an average of 10 mins. just to get an appt. As I was waiting in the office today a man came in to pick up a prescription he had called for earlier. I could not believe the way he was spoken to. He said he had called to see if it was ready but was on hold for 20 mins. I believe that! and he was sent away, after being rudely chastised in front of the waiting room. Also I had a blood draw appt. for 1:00, got there at 12:50 and signed in after a man ( who is known by the staff) who had a blood draw appt scheduled for 1:30 . The Phlebotomist… came out and motioned with her finger for him to come to the Lab. Sneaky! When I questioned this I was told his appt was for 12:45. Liar.. Then why did he sign in for a 1:30 appt. He just decided to come early and they just took him. I finally got in at 1:20. To top it off I had to pay $10.00 just to have my blood drawn. If I had known I would have picked up the script and went to Quest directly. I have never paid for blood work before. What a scam, I was lucky to have $10.00 on me because they don't take credit. Again, antiquated. Rude, Rude, Rude, that's all I can say! and farewell!

She has from day one treated me with respect, listens to what I have to say and has diagnosed my properly..........I finally found a doctor that has everything I need.

Rude as the day is long. Cannot yet comment on competence, but based on attitude I do not expect much. Appears to be a legend in her own mind and as such has developed a (possibly terminal) case of self-importance. If you have a choice, I'd look elsewhere.

At first I thought she was great. Seemed to listen and helped me get my initial thyroid problem diagnosed. But as soon as I wanted to take it further she refused. I tried explaining my history and asking questions about what I'd researched. I was continually told that I was just depressed and needed therapy and more meds. She wasted so much of my time (and copays) telling me nothing was wrong, when in the end I had Autoimmune Thyroid Disease (which, again, she REFUSED to test for even though the symptoms were clear as day!!!) and CANCER! If I hadn't left and found another Dr who actually cared and listened then who knows where I'd be. She wants nothing more than to throw pharmaceuticals at you and walk you out the door. All that, with a long wait and disorganized office.

She lacks empathy and comes across as superior. She doesn't appreciate patients who ask questions. She just wants you to trust her blindly and go on your merry way. Very poor bedside manner. After becoming an established patient, I was 9 minutes late for an appt and she refused to see me even though she was still with another patient when I arrived. I've always had to wait more than a half hour minimum for her. Why is her time more valuable than mine? Dont waste your time with her. There are many more caring physicians elsewhere.

office staff is horrible to say the least, they miscommunicate information and do not listen. office policy does not allow patients to speak to doctors on the phone which is ridiculous. doctor herself is rude and seems very uninterested. you get the feeling she thinks she is better than you.

Dr. Vermeulen is an excellent doctor. Thorough, caring and extremely intelligent. Catches things other doctor's don't.Waiting time varies but usually on time. Some office staff is great, others, not so much. At times it is difficult getting in to see her but there is a N.P. and other doctors available at the office. I highly recommend her.
