Dr. Megan Elizabeth Belcher, DO

I was a patient of Dr. Belcher's for more than 2 years. She has caused me damage in two instances: 1.Last year, I started suffering from dilating nausea. Dr. Belcher wasted two months and several appointment prescribing me anti-nausea pills for pregnant women, even though I was not and am not pregnant, and then anti-acids even though I told her that I know what acid feels like, and this wasn't it. After 2 months, she finally gave me a simple test for H plyori. It came back as positive. She prescribed huge amounts of antibiotics. After the antibiotics, I was somewhat functional, but I was still hurting and unable to eat. Finally she referred me to a gastroenterologist. He found bleeding and holes in my stomach, caused by the H plyori. If Dr. Belcher had listened to me in the beginning, when I said that I knew what acid felt like and this was not just acid, my stomach probably would not have gotten so much damage from the H pylori. While my appetite has returned, I cannot consume alcohol… due to the damage. She wasted 2 months and my stomach suffered damage because she did not listen to me. 2.Previously I had asked Dr. Belcher herself for a referral for a endroenterologist. I have in years past visited a sleep therapist, had a sleep study done and have a cpap, and I have downloaded every sleep mediation app know to man. This was all before becoming a patient of Dr. Belcher. I have repeatedly mentioned to Dr Belcher that I cannot sleep and I have two toddlers and that I need sleep. I have never asked for sleep meds, so I'm not a drug seeker.I have asked Dr. Belcher herself for a referral for an endocrinologist because it is MY last idea for finding help for my sleep issues. She completely ignored me and said let's focus on my stomach issues for now. She dragged her feet just focusing on that. A month ago, I made a same day appointment with Dr. Megan Belcher. They had me see a colleague of hers. While I was there, I asked for a referral for an endocrinologist and I explained (as I had done with Dr. Belcher herself) that I do not sleep and changes in my sleep have been most noticeable around times of hormonal changes (age of puberty and pregnancy being the most noticeable). She said. that it would not be a problem and that I would be contacted. I waited several weeks. I then called them and asked for the status of the referral. I was told that the request to be contacted with the referral information would be given. 3 days later, today, I received a phone call stating that referrals aren't allowed on same day appointments and that I would need to schedule a non same day appointment. I told them that I saw, Kathy Armstrong, I believe it was, and that she told me that she'd take care of, that it wouldn't be a problem. I was told that Kathy had made NO note of my request for a referral. I AM LIVID! I do not sleep at ALL! I need help. Why did this policy take a MONTH for me to be told about. I DO NOT SLEEP. Doctors are supposed to help! Now, I am supposed to wait 3 weeks to get a non same day appointment. If you want someone who listens and who communicates policy with immediately, do NOT go to this office! You will wait months and have to visit many times to get a referral that you need and you will have to basically figure which type of doctor you need and specifically which doctor you will need for your referral and even then, you may have to visit a few more times. The "professional" would be out of business in a month in any other profession.

Dr. Belcher is my PCP after my sister referred her to me for so many awesome reasons. My number 1 issue with doctors is discomfort and feeling rushed so they can be on to the next patient. I absolutely adore her bedside manner. She put me at ease and I was dealing with Staph in some horrible places. I never felt rushed and she is attentive to the point you cannot mention anything medically without her checking you about it. She follows up and is very thorough. She explains to you...IN DETAIL...what your body is dealing with or going through and possibly even why. I was most impressed because she was so young. I love Dr. B and felt she deserved better than 3.8 stars when she is freakin' excellent. Glad I received that reference.

I am so pleased with the care that I have received each time I’ve seen Dr. Belcher and have nothing but good things to say in regards to the office staff and medical assistants. Dr. Belcher approaches each concern with careful consideration and is thorough in her assessment and treatment. I trust her completely with my health and have referred my family and friends to her as well. I’m so pleased to have such a wonderful doctor in the community and appreciate the ease of access in the location and scheduling!
