Dr. Megan E. Collins, MD

I was referred to her by another doctor due to constant fatigue. After waiting for more than a month for my appointment I see why she is fully booked! I had an exceptional experience - from check-in, the medical assistant going through my medical history and vitals to the actual appointment. When Dr Collins came in she took her time to ask me a lot of questions and really get to know me. She was thoroughly listening and present. I didn't feel rushed and she answered all my questions. She ordered some blood work and told me what she would advise both if tests came out well or bad, so I knew what to do and didn't need to come back to "read me" my results as other doctors have asked me in the past. Also she added notes in MyCharts explaining my results. 100% recommend, happy to have found a PCP I can trust in NY!

After lots of research and waiting months to get an appointment, I think I found a good primary care doctor. Dr. Collins was knowledgeable, thorough and took the time to discuss my concerns. When I had questions about test results, I was surprised how quickly she responded through the NYU-Langone app. Unlike many NY docs, she takes United Healthcare Medicare Advantage insurance.

I was told my insurance was accepted and it turns out after waiting for 2 months for an appointment that it wasn’t! Waste of my time! How hard is it to verify insurance ?!

Dr. Collins literally saved my life. Upon my first visit to her I told her over twenty years ago I smoked 2 packs of cigarettes and day for about 20 years. As a result of her through intake, she quietly suggested I have a CAT Scan. I did and found out I had the beginning of lung cancer. She quickly met with me, sent me for a PET scan and to a pulmonary specialist Dr. Bessich, who quickly sent to Dr. MIchael Zervos, the Director of Robotic Thoraic surgery. He quickly set a date. Today I am cancer free. Unbeleivable!!!! Dr. Collins is a kind, humble, compassionate, thorough, and knows her medicine. If you are looking for an internal medicine doctor, I believe she is the best. I am so thankful for her!!!!!

I went on a cruise and after I got back home, something was terribly off. I was nauseous and it felt like I was still on the cruise ship, rocking back and forth. I came into Dr. Collins' office sobbing, due to heightened anxiety from my symptoms. She told me that I needed to see a therapist and prescribed me heavy-duty Benzos, despite no history or anxiety or depression. I came into her office a second time, and my physical condition/symptoms hadn't improved. Furthermore, the Benzos gave me brain fog, confusion, and memory loss. I finally went to an ENT and was diagnosed with a rare vestibular disorder called MdDs - which was a product of the cruise ship. After working with the neurology department at Mt. Sinai, I found out that the Benzos actually worsened my condition. It was infuriating to have Dr. Collins doubt my symptoms and basically infer that they weren't real. Incredibly unprofessional on her part. I won't return.

I have nothing but good to say about Dr. Collins. First-- she listens and explains. Although everything gets covered she never rushes you-- at least you don't feel rushed. All questions are answered and all concerns are addressed. I highly recommend her.
