Dr. Megan E Porter, DO

If you want a natural birth, DO NOT use Dr. Porter!!!! Dr. Porter is rude and aggressive. She likes to use scare tactics to make mom's terrified and force them to have medical interventions that they don't want. I told her I wanted another natural birth (delivered at an alternative birthing center before) and she told me that she gives her patients pitocin to deliver the placenta and has only had one person ever not get it and they hemorrhaged and needed a blood transfusion. After restating my preference, she stated, "Okay, so you're okay with bleeding out and needing blood." I then stated I prefer to labor and deliver in a position that I am comfortable with and she stated well I prefer mom on her back in stirrups and again used a scare tactic to say that she has moms that way so that if babies' shoulders get stuck, moms don't tear (which this position is the number 1 position to cause tearing). Then my husband asked about catching our baby (he was able to do this before) and she… scoffed and said if I am working definitely not. I was very appalled and turned off by her. So much so that we have switched hospitals so there won't even be a chance that she is part of my next birth. I had heard other horror stories about her before I met her, and my experience just confirmed those.

I highly recommend Dr. Porter. She performed my recent hysterectomy. Dr. Porter spent all the time I needed to answer my many questions with professionalism, kindness and grace. My husband was very pleased in speaking with her after the surgery as well. My post-op appointments went smoothly with Dr. Porter again taking her time to go over my questions and concerns. We are fortunate to have someone with her skill, professionalism and outstanding bedside manner in our community. Thank you, Dr. Porter!

Best gyno I've had & I'm older & have had many in my lifetime. I highly recommend Dr Porter.

I don't get the warm fuzzy feeling from Dr. Porter but she is effective and efficient in her treatment. I have only seen her for routine gyn exams but my experiences have been positive.

Very poorly run office.Dr. Porter has very little experience and bedside manner very unprofessional. Appts are made for ultra sounds with no follow up from the dr or her staff. Medicines and blood tests have been given...unless I call to get the results I am never informed . Unfortunately the entire office needs to regroup...one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. I have actually had the dr get out her textbook to try to answer some of my medical questions !
