Megan Hansen, NP

Megan Hansen, ACNP, grew up in Templeton, the daughter of an orthopedic surgeon. After high school, she studied at UC Berkeley, earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology while competing on the women's rowing team. During her time at Cal, the women's rowing team won 2 NCAA championship titles and Megan had the opportunity to compete internationally at the U23 World Championships. Following graduation, she moved to New Jersey to train with the US Rowing National Team in hopes of being selected for the Olympic team. While the Olympic was not realized, Megan did have the opportunity to represent the USA at the Pan American games and bring home a silver medal in the women's pair event. Following her adventure in rowing, Megan returned to school at CSU Los Angeles to obtain a second bachelor's degree in Nursing as well as a master's degree. After spending time at both Cedars Sinai and UCLA Ronald Regan hospitals, she realized how much she valued the Central Coast and the community hospital …setting. After moving home, Megan worked as a bedside nurse on the telemetry unit of French Hospital where she developed a love for cardiology. Following completion of her Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner board certification, she worked as a hospitalist prior to joining Coast Cardiology. In her time away from the office, Megan enjoys baking, needlepoint, and reading.
