Dr. Mehari Gebreyohanns, MD

This is absolutely the worst specialist I have EVER had in my life. I was hospitalized at UTSW and unfortunate enough to have him as my neurologist. As a patient being diagnosed with a blood clot on the left side of my brain- confirmed with MULTIPLE radiology reports (CT, MRV, MRI, MRA) I was basically told by him that all the symptoms I had been suffering from for months were simply just a ‘manifestation’ in my mind. My entire stay in the hospital he completely dismissed me and my complaints like I was a dog- literally tapping me on my shoulder like a dog. This man is terrible...please beware. As soon as I got out, I went to another neurologist at Presbyterian & they did additional testing he needed and he prescribed me the proper medications (beside the blood thinner) I needed to alleviate the paralyzing headaches, tremors, double vision, confusion & memory loss. Dr. Gebreyohanns is too caught up in trying to expertise in something outside of his profession (psychology) that he ends… up neglecting patients. When I got the hospital notes back from UTSW he put verbatim- “seen for concern about “cerebral venous sinus thrombosis” although patient admitted with chief complaint of ‘chest pain.’ No definitive evidence of CVST. And then goes on to mention how the contrast and interpretation could not be accurate. REALLY?!?! At that point I’ve had TOTAL 6 DIFFERENT scans on record in the course of 3 weeks. Not one of them is accurate to you? Regardless, of what I was admitted into the hospital for- you should treat the patient for what they ARE experiencing symptoms for!! Especially if it’s related to a previously DIAGNOSED blood clot! There are 300 pages of hospital notes with about 10 different doctors’ inputs on every page. The ONLY professional that repudiates there being a blood clot on the left side of my brain is him. Very unprofessional & glad I will never EVER have to deal with him again. Please be careful if you do...he is very condescending and will NOT get to the root of the problem (had to pay more money & do that somewhere else)

HAS NO BEDSIDE MATTERS, SHOWS NO CONCERN ABOUT YOU OR YOUR HEALTH. TALK TO YOU ANY KIND OF WAY. NO RESPECT FOR OTHERS AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE. NOT EVEN IF I HAD ENEMIES.-
