My cardiologist introduced me to Dr. Chau after it was discovered during a stress test that I needed surgery. I had several options to replace my aortic valve and clear a blockage in one of my arteries. After just two consultations with Dr. Chau and lots of research I decided to go with Dr Chau's recommendation and basically, my gut feeling. (It's important to note that I had the option to go to NY Presbyterian or Columbia Presbyterian for this procedure.) A planned 3 hour open heart surgery turned into close to 8 hours. Dr. Chau and her team found a lot more blockage than what the tests had indicated and dealt with it. I was back working in 18 days! The professionalism and care I received by the staff at Einstein Montefiore and Dr. Chau was world class. Dr. Chau and her team provided for me the "best care anywhere" and I will be eternally grateful. Totally professional, never condescending, clear choices and lots of good old fashion TLC.
