Dr. Melanie Elizabeth Costa, MD

For someone who has 5 star google reviews, I was highly disenchanted with appointment. First off, ive waited multiple months for this appointment, made sure i was free that specific day, and drove 45 minutes to and from this facility just for her to tell me to just wash my face with water?? Character wise, she exuded a condescending tone and demeanor and puts you in defense mode. I have met several people in my life and can obviously tell the difference between a positive encounter vs a negative one based off of how the person makes you feel during and after. I did not appreciate some of the things she had said as they were crude, baseless and nonsensical. This is clearly a person who has a paper degree and speaks down towards others based off of this. You can know everything and know nothing at the same time. I made my intention for being there clear as day, and it was just a cycle of circling around me asking the same question, making the same statements and her lacking the… ability to comprehend which resulted in me not receiving beneficial information. She was definitely not stating logical accurate information. Theres a profound contrast between the information she has said vs what other derms have said. She was of absolutely zero help. I mentioned my concern over and over and i was not being heard. Its quite ironic because she also assumed and asserted my level of knowledge and understanding before even asking first yet shes the who who doesnt seem to possess very much at least in the field that shes in. Im not the one to do that with. I am not the average person. Everything she said to do im already doing. I have common sense and am not a fool. Senseless. The wait and time it took just to be there all for her to be toxic, insult my intelligence, spew crude, degenerate assertions and remarks, just to tell me to do everything im already doing and to just over all be of absolute no help what so ever . . yeah, i am not okay with this. I will look for a competent dermatologist.

Very knowledgeable dermatologist. The doctor was patient, listening and attentive.

After waiting for 30 minutes the actual time spent seeing me was incredibly brief and Dr. Costa was in the room for less than 5 minutes. Treatment options were given, but there was no other patient education/prevention. The appointment was over so quickly I had to call afterward to get a prescription refill.

Rushed in and out after waiting months. Thought great reviews were a good sign. She must have a quota of patients to see.

Waited for months for open appointment. Was looking forward to ask questions and have her look at moles. She moved so quickly I'm not even sure she saw all my moles. I wanted to ask some questions but she was heading out the door before I asked about other concerns. I made another appointment after $50 copay. I will cancel. What a joke! Who are all these excellent reviews?! Next time I will check with family and friends for referrals. She must have a quota of patients to push through.
