She doesn’t listen to you. Tells you that in bleeding during active pills is okay. I told her breast cancer runs in my family, and during my annual she didn’t even check my breast...I feel like as a black woman, she doesn’t listen to me at all and I’m tired of not being heard. Choose another ob-gyn that listens to you especially if you’re a black woman, because she isn’t it.

I sought out Dr. Helmken after hearing she was the best in the area, after seeing her multiple times i have come to the conclusion that while she may be something, it is definitely not the best. I left the office crying, feeling stupid, and in a worse spot than when i arrived. Not only had she not remembered any of my personal information after seeing her MULTIPLE times over several months, but she gave me information i could’ve received from reading wikipedia. She basically told me that every woman has hormones, there’s nothing special about me, i am probably fine, let’s just take me off birth control AGAIN and have me endure a few more months of excruciating pain (most likely have to call out of work) and then we can come back and see how we feel and try ANOTHER birth control. If you LOVE feeling like a guinea pig i highly recommend Dr. Helmken she’ll do an AMAZING job with you and all your fluctuating hormones!!

Dr. Helmken did my c section and failed to remove everything. Developed a chronic condition and infection bc of her mistakes. Her partner forgot to give me antibiotics after a procedure and ignored my symptoms for weeks causing me to be severely sick.

I love my Doctor and her entire staff. They are taking excellent care of my baby and myself. I feel completely confidant in this office.

I would definitely choose this doc. She is like no other. Very patient , her medical opinions are assuring. She has a listening ear for your concerns. Great attitude. Yes I would and do recommend her to others.
