Dr. Melanie Suzanne Metcalf, MD

I was pregnant and recieving care through salud. When my water broke and was rushed to the hospital, Dr. metcalf was the one on duty. I pushed for over 3 1/2 hours, then she decided she needed additional help and left the room for over 20 min leaving me still pushing and exhausted. Prior to that, she answered a personal call while initially telling me to push. Luckily my baby is healthy and doing great, however I tore very badly and while dr. Metcalf was stitching me, she was apologizing the whole time. At my 6 week post partum check up, they informed me that I was not stitched correctly and had to get a correctional procedure done. I hope and pray no one else has to go through what I did in my experience.

I have been seeing Dr. Metcalf once every month for nearly three years. She is competent, caring and spends an ample amount of time with each and every patient. I have recently moved 1000 miles away from her office, yet I travel monthly to still see her, as I am a medically complicated patient and continuity of care is very important to me. In my opinion one could not find a finer family practitioner.
