Dr. Melissa Ann Dietz, MD

I was referred to Dr. Dietz by a family friend who is also an M.D. My husband and I are pregnant with our first child and as this new journey is unfolding we did not know what to fully expect. After meeting with Dr. Dietz we where very pleased and felt at easy that we had met the right doctor to walk through this journey. Dr. Dietz is very compationate, professional, responsive, she listened to our every concern, directed us in the path to the right education to prepare us for the upcoming months to come, and answer our long list of questions we needed clarification in. I highly recommend her to anyone searching for new obstetrician. She didn't treat us like a number and gave me and my husband such a peace about this new season in life. Dr.Dietz is very wonderful! Feels like she cares and pays attention to you. The office wait time is ridiculous but i can understand since she's being pulled too many different directions...

I first saw Dr. Dietz about 2 yrs ago after experiencing abnormally painful periods and bleeding for years and finally realizing it wasn't normal. I had suspected endometriosis but was not certain. Without doing the mandatory laparoscopy to diagnose me she told me it was likely and also misdiagnosed me with a bicornuate uterus after performing an ultrasound. The year and a half following that we tried several birthcontrol pills to manage the pain and bleeding but nothing worked. In fact the pill made bleeding a constant problem. I rarely went more than a few days at a time without needing a tampon. My last appointment with her she was clearly stumped and said "well if you told me you didn't want kids that would make things a lot easier, at this point I would recommend a hysterectomy." I was 25 at this time and hadn't even started trying to have children yet. It was devastating, I left that day thinking I had no chance easing my pain without having a hysterectomy. After abut 2 months… I sought out a second opinion and was informed I had pcos, a septate uterus, retrograde menstration, uterine fibroids, and suspected endometriosis after my first visit. With in a month of that my new dr. Had reconstructed my uterine septum, removed the fibroids, diagnosed and lasered a significant amount of stage 4 endometriosis lesions, and started lupron injections for treatment of the pcos and endo. It is 6 months later and my hormone therapy is complete my uterus is now shaped correctly and will allow for more normal periods and the medication for the pcos is doing its job. I urge you, if you suspect something is not right, get a second opinion! Some dr.s are simply there for a paycheck and will give you a pack of pills and send you on your way.

I was diagnosed during pregnancy with Antiphospholipid Syndrome after having some abnormal blood tests. Dr. Dietz worked tirelessly to research and figure out the best care plan for me and my baby. She walked me through my new condition and helped me understand why everything had to happen this way. I ended up having to be induced and have an emergency c-section. She was not scheduled to be at the hospital that day, but took the day off at the office in order to be at the hospital with me and performed the surgery for me. I will have her as my OBGYN as long as she is practicing.

Called 12 hours before surgery to cancel because she wasn't confident in her abilities. The surgery was scheduled 2 months in advance!!! So unprofessional it makes me sick.

I have been seeing her for roughly a year now, I find her to be a great doctor. She is very helpful and spends a lot of time with me. With someone going through infertility, which if you know is a very hard thing, she is the doctor for you. She is all around great. Although her staff isn't the best, so if you have any problems, go directly to the doctor. Other then that, I love her.

Dr. Dietz did not answer my questions. I left her office concerned about her attitude and I switched my OBGYN. It is working better for me now.
