Dr. Melissa Dawn Torres, DO

I found Dr. Torres to be very patient and helpful in assessing my medical issues. She listened intently to gather the facts from me and in reviewed my history from other doctors I've seen.. She was very professional and so was her nurse and staff, If I continue to have faith in her she will be my new PCP.

Was very impressed with the level of professionalism from all staff and Dr. Torres. Check in was easy, weight and family history done speedily and the doctor spent an appropriate amount of time with me. I'm very happy to have found a new doctor.

We are new to the area and I was seeking a new PCP so scheduled a 1st appointment, check-up. I had also taken a fall and hurt my shoulder and was being seen by an Ortho but encountering Insurance Co issues about getting an MRI. When I brought this up she immediately told me I didn't need an MRI to rule out a rotator cuff tear because if I had one I wouldn't be able to use my arm. I eventually had the MRI and had a significant full thickness tear that required surgery. Glad I didn't listen to her and listened to my body instead. She also dismissed a couple of other items I had previously been diagnosed with by several other Doctors as just lack of exercise (without even asking me how much I exercised which is considerable) or not doing proper breathing exercises. I felt that she had pigeonholed me and wasn't interested in treating me. I won't go back. Now I have to try to find someone who is willing to treat me as an individual, rather than an "old" person.
