Dr. Waterstone is exceptional. She is thorough and very knowledgeable. She is direct but warm and bc of her direct manner she helped me to have a birth without drugs in 1 hr. She mentally pushed me to have the baby in a safe but expedient manner as I was in pain and chose not to have drugs. She helped me to focus and if the doctor had been extremely kind and overly friendly, I wouldn’t have had such an expedient birth. I will forever be thankful to her for coaching me through my birth without drugs quickly, safely and efficiently. She has been my OBGYN for 10yrs, I stayed with her for my second child without drugs, and I highly recommend her.

I’ve been seeing her throughout my entire pregnancy - she’s always on time, answers all of my questions, makes sure I know everything that’s happening and is all around a great doctor. Would recommend for sure.

Dr. Waterstone is empathetic without being patronizing. Her matter-of-fact demeanor is comforting and exhibits her confidence as a physician.

If I could sum up Dr. Waterstone's manner in one example it would be this: She keeps her hand on the doorknob of the exam room while she talks to you. If you're lucky, she will stand close to you. She may sit for a minute. But for the most part, she is cold, impersonal, clinical and abrasive. She is also a know-it-all and is happy to share with you that she has no concerns about her c-section rate. Her appointments always run on time because she takes about 5 minutes with a patient. Now, another person might see her as knowledgeable, business-like and straight-forward and appreciate that she keeps things brief and runs a tight ship. That was my initial impression, too. But when you get into it, about 7 months into your pregnancy, it becomes clear that OBGYN work is just a job for her. And she doesn't seem to like it. She doesn't care and she doesn't listen. You're just along for the ride. And it's a long ride, too, because if there's a test or intervention that can be… done--she orders it. One of my biggest regrets is having Dr. Waterstone deliver my baby. Don't make the same mistake.

I went to Weill Cornell due to the reputation and the ease of appointments. I never had to wait and found the office to be welcoming. I wish, however, that I hadn't let that keep me here. My experience with Dr. Waterstone was terrible. When I came to her office desperate for advice about my horrible morning sickness, she really didn't have much advice to offer. Her manner the entire time I saw her was cold and indifferent. My delivery was terrible. She came into the delivery room complaining of a headache and asking for aspirin. She was so indifferent to the fact that my daughter was not progressing when I was pushing. I was an induced labor and she did not give me any advice if this was a good idea for my daughter or not...more of a scheduling issue than anything else. It took 2 1/2 hrs of active pushing (I actually ruptured blood vessels in my face from pushing so hard) and she seemed annoyed at the whole process. My husband, who is generally very laid back, was furious that she was… our doctor. I still have lingering doubts whether my daughter's mild visual and fine motor issues are from being in the birth canal too long. I still have guilt about not using a different doctor.

Dr. Waterstone delivered my two sons over the last two years. My wife and I both found her to be an exceptional doctor. Her medical skills along with her superb patient relationship lead to a tremendous experience. I would highly recommend her.
