Dr. Melvin Wayne Ressler, MD

Dr Ressler did my colonoscopy and he and his staff did an excellent job. Two months later he took out my appendix, because of the colonoscopy he saw a growth on my appendix but he could not get this polyp during the colonoscopy. He and his staff did an excellent job it was done very quick and efficiently. I have talked with the other Doctors that know hiw work as well as some Nurses and they say he does excellent work also. His staff and the anestiesiologists did excellent work also. I had my follow and I am recovering faster thatn expected.

I was referred to Dr. Ressler for a colonoscopy, so I'm surprised to see he's listed as a cardiothoracic surgeon. But after looking at the results of the colonoscopy, Ressler scheduled emergency surgery to do a colostomy. He did a good job of explaining how and why to prep for the surgery, what I should expect, and what would happen after. He did an excellent job with shaping the stoma into a neat circle and installing a perfectly functioning port for use in follow-up chemo treatments. I've learned that though ports are not complex procedures, they can get messed up and have to be redone. I also liked that he worked with his partner, Dr. Tschersky. They seem to to be a well established team. Together they were able to squeeze in an early morning colostomy and after a brief hospital stay, I was sent home. Six months later, the ostomy went septic. I went to the ER and as it happened Dr. Tschersky was the surgeon on call. He did an ostomy repair. Again I followed up with… Ressler, because Tschersky was not available on the days I could come. My interactions with both these surgeons and their staff have been no less than efficient, professional, and effective. I had all questions answered in plain English. These are doctors who maintain a polite professional manner, but are too busy to sit and chat unnecessarily. I appreciate the way they explain what's happened, what they propose to do, what's going to happen and what to expect in future. They do as they say they will, when they say they will. I can't ask much more than that.

Didn't use CAT Scan report to tell us about husbands adrenal tumor. Operated on right side, removed appendix and eight months later, surgery on left to remove adrenal tumor. (Different surgeon) Why pay for expensive testing if you aren't going to use it?
