Dr. Mercedes Alina Lat, MD

Dr. Lat was my childhood pediatrician. I had chronic ear infections and when various ear drops proved ineffective, she recommended a home remedy instead of recommending a consultation with a specialist. This went on for several years despite my parent's concerns until they finally decided to get a second opinion -- turns out I had a seriously out of control cholesteatoma (middle ear tumor) that required surgery to remove the tumor and replace my ear drum and hearing bones -- if we had listened to her, it would have eventually caused a brain infection and may have caused irreparable damage. I learned many years later that she had similarly misdiagnosed my sister in law as a child as well. She may be over worked or something, but she is definitely not a competent physician and I would not recommend her to anyone. In fact, I would caution anyone considering Dr. Lat to stay away.

This is one wonderful person in general. ....As a Dr. She's compassionate, loving, very caring with children and her quilty time is amazing! !!! Just like her ..concerns, very pleased to still have her as my daughter's Dr....ty

LOVE DR LAT! SHE CALLS YOU TO CHECK ON YOUR KIDS WHEN SHE'S SEEN THEM, SHE REMEMBERS NAMES AND SIBLINGS, CARING, KIND AND WONDERFUL DOCTOR.
