Dr. Mercedes Narez, MD

I wish I had read these reviews before scheduling with Dr. Narez. I booked an 8:30am appointment for a routine check up and was there slightly early. I was quickly brought into a room and told that the doctor would be right in and that I was her first appointment of the day. I saw her walk by when I was in the waiting room so I knew she was there. 40 minutes later I was sure that she had just forgotten about me or was not aware I was there so I popped my head out to speak to a nurse. I politely told her that I had been waiting 40 minutes and inquired as to when she thought that the doctor would be in. She apologized and said that she would check. 30 seconds later the doctor stuck her head in the door and spewed with anger, "I heard you! You are a new patient and need to be patient". I tried to explain that her that I was just inquiring as to when she'd be in because I had a meeting to run to and she continued to berate me like a child. Needless to say, I was not about to wait… around to have an appointment with this hateful woman. Honestly it was one of the most unprofessional things that I have ever seen in my 40 years of going to doctors. I understand why she is at Kaiser because she would never be able to sustain a private practice being as horrendously rude as she is.

I arrived on time and was put into a room right away. 40 minutes went by and I was sure that they just forgot about me so I popped my head out and simply told the nurse that I had been waiting 40 minutes and politely asked when the doctor would be in. I purposely booked the first appointment of the day so that there would be no delay and I saw the doctor walk in while I was in the waiting room so I knew that she was there. The nurse apologized and went to check. A second later Dr Narez stuck her head in the door and said “I heard you! You’re a new patient and need to be patient.” She continued to reprimand me like a child as I explained that her nurse told me that I was her first appointment of the day. Needless to say, after being berated by this woman I was not about to stick around to wait for her to be done whatever it was she was doing. Honestly, if there was a good reason… she could have just politely said that there was an emergency or something came up and I would have completely understood. It was so unprofessional it was downright shocking. I can see why she’s at Kaiser because if she had a private practice she wouldn’t have any patients.

Dr. Narez was rude. When I told her my reason for the visit she questioned my education, which is absurd seeing as I'm a teacher, She told me I didn't make sense and sent me home. Then I went to a proper doctor the following day and was appropriately diagnosed and treated. She was horribly offensive.
