Dr. Meredith Joann Hixson, MD

This is a coldhearted so called Doctor. Once she hears about your issues she writes down the information, gets up and lets you know that its time for you to leave. The office staff is also very rude and only care about collecting your insurance card and only look at you as a dollar bill, not a person. Theres many doctors that are very good and a better choice but that is NOT Meredith Hixson. My second to last visit, I came in and brought my insurance number since my new insurance card had not come in the mail and I was told that due to me not having the card in hand, I would have to reschedule. I was spotting and was nervous since I am post menopausal. My last visit was after being diagnosed with adenocarcinoma in my uterus at another clinic and she did not care about me at all when I came back to her; just sent me on home without discussing treatment, my options and even threw it aside as if it was nothing. Didnt care about my condition at all or show sympathy. You will not get a… smile from neither her nor anyone in the staff. The receptionist is BEYOND rude and treats everyone poorly. I do NOT recommend her to anyone at all. Please pass her by!

trying to call at 11:15 to 11:45 to make appointment - tells you to call back during normal business hours but says there lunch break is 12 to 1 PM. why don't they have someone to answer the phone

Everytime i come here there is a long wait. The Dr. is rude and doesn’t care about you or why you are there. One time i even heard the Dr. go out and tell my business to the whole office for everyone to hear! What’s kind of unprofessional Dr. like this still has their license?! This is crazy!

Wait for the doctor was 1-2 HOURS almost every time. It was insane. Staff was always super rude. But most of all I went in for left stomach pain. We got an ultrasound and then CAT scan to find a cyst on my right ovary which had nothing to do with the pain. She wanted to make sure it wasn't cancerous and told me she had to give me a five in scar and remove the whole ovary. as a scared 20yr old I followed her lead. Aparently taking out my ovary over this was extraordinarily unnecessary after talking to many doctors. And others which much larger cysts never even had the invasive surgery like I did. It was benign but i wish I did more research into other Drs and got a second opinion.

I think all these other patients with complaints are crazy. Dr Hixson has delivered 2 of my precious babies and both experiences were amazing. She is kind thoughtful and extremely compassionate. I happen to know she is well respected in the community. All the labor and delivery nurses LOVE her. She is their favorite doctor to work with. I can’t say enough good things about her. Shame on you for saying negative things

I have never had such a bad experience with a dr. In my life! Please if you are pregnant or trying to conceive do not go to her or switch Dr.s as soon as possible. Every time i had a question or there was something going on pregnancy wise that I'd mention to her she would completely blow it off. Her and the staff were always extremely rude and her bedside manner was just awful. The main issue i had with her was in the end of my pregnancy, i was exactly 38 weeks and noticed i had been leaking a lot "sorry TMI" but i knew it wasn't urine and my appointment was that day so I went in and told her, she looked at me didn't do a fern test to see if it was fluid or anything told me she didn't think i tore my water and sent me home. That entire week I continued leaking my daughter wasn't moving nearly as much and at night every night i would have contractions that would last consistently for about 4 hours and then stop I called almost everyday freaking out and the receptionist told me i was… fine to calm down and they'd see me at my next appointment. Its now been 1 week since i started leaking i go to my appointment and what do you know my babies not moving as much as they'd like but but my cervix was not dialated or softened at all and she still wanted to send me home, at this point Id had enough and I knew something was wrong and I wasn't going to keep my opinions to myself anymore so she sent me to the hospital and thank god i did. At the hospital i was on monitors for about 3 hours and then they did the ultrasound, 20 minutes after the ultrasound my nurse told me i was extremely low on amniotic fluid I had been leaking all that week and barely had any left and my baby was stressed. They induced me 2 hours later and my babygirl was born 12 hours later. Im not trying to be overly dramatic I'm trying to warn people I almost lost my daughter because of Dr. Hixsons negligence as a doctor and if I hadn't followed my gut and pushed to go to the hospital for more tests she probably would be. And that was only the main issue i i had with her. I don't know how Dr. Hixson is in other areas but as far as pregnancy and delivery please please never go to her, choosing a different Dr. could save your babies life.

She has been a wonderful doctor over the past 12 years and she delivered 2 of my grandchildren.

She knew my son was going to be handicapped and didn't tell me. Instead she highly insisted I tie my tubes at the age of 22 and two kids, who does that.

Wonderful Doctor, AWFUL staff. Every woman who answers the phone is beyond rude. I am considering switching doctors just for that. I've been with Dr. Hixson for years. I made an appointment far in advance because I know OB/GYN doctors get booked fast and I called to reschedule and the appointment didn't exist. Awful staff.

Dr. Hixson is o.k. but her receptionist is the WORST!!!!! She is rude and not helpful at all! I have never seen such an unprofessional receptionist in my life. If you don't like your job..... Get another one, maybe a correctional officer might suit you better. She does lack P.R. skills yet it still maybe another career option for her!!!!
