Dr. Meredith Murphy Stanton, MD

I am currently seeing Dr. Stanton to help with something I’ve struggled with for many years. The minute I walked in her office, she was smiling and very friendly. She is extremely professional in her job, she has patience with me and always listens to me. I would definitely recommend her to anyone nervous about seeking this type of treatment because she will help you relax and open up. She is helping change my whole life around to create positivity at work, home, and socially. I’m very thankful to have been referred to her!

I started seeing Dr Stanton a few months ago to regulate my anxiety medication. Not only has she worked with different medicines with me, she has made me feel that I am finally in control of my mental health. I was seen by a neuropsychologist for an evaluation at her referral and with the results we moved forward. Nothing ever feels like it’s being pushed on me, if I let her know something isn’t working she always gives me the option to change what we are doing. She’s pretty easy to talk to. I see her every month to check up on my mental health and make sure my meds are working still.

I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for treatment. I basically was stuck with Dr Meredith Stanton and she seemed to have a complete lack of regard for my needs. She kicked my mother out of the entire facility during one of her visits for simply questioning her. Highly unprofessional and I simply cannot stress that enough. RW

I had been referred to Dr. Stanton after 10 weeks of Intensive outpatient treatment for severe major depression that had me bed ridden for 5 years. The Outpatient program was very beneficial and I appreciate all they did for me. I was surprised they made a follow up care appointment for me with Dr.Stanton since she was treating my adult son. Within the first minute of the appointment she made the association and I informed her that I questioned the fact that I was assigned to her instead of the doctor I had previously seen. I took the opportunity to express my concern that my son's condition had worsened under her care and I was disheartened that after several years of encouraging him to get help, he had become more hopeless under her inept care. At that point she abruptly ended the appointment AND informed the clinic that I was not to be seen by anyone at First Health again. It is a sad day when a mental health patient finally overcomes the stigma of reaching out for help and is… treated in such a sub -human way. Dr Stanton does not possess the maturity and professionalism needed to deal with mental health issues. M. Jane

This woman is not good listening to patients. She likes to us her power as a psychiaist just to show that she can control someone's life. I had seen a psychiaist for over ten years and did good on the medication I had been taking but she refused to listen and keep me on due to it being a stimulant even after I had been tested and prescribed it. After seeing her my life got so much worse by not being able to do the tasks I had been doing while prescribed Adderall. I do not want to take anything for recreational just to have a better quality of life and she made sure to show what authority she has and didn't look at my former doctors records. He is very brilliant much more than she will ever be.

One of the worst people that calls thereselves a Dr I have seen

I was on Adderall. I had taken it for over 10 years. I moved to NC and my Dr where I used to live had me on it for over 10 years. Before taking it I could not hardly drive and had mant ADHD symptoms. Dr Stanton never ask me about my medical symptoms she just refused to prescribe it for me and mentioned testing. I don't understand after having a better life and not knowing anything about me how she can be so opinated. I think she just wanted to be controlling.

Extremely disappointed. My daughter's anxiety and depression worsened in her care. She also has no problem with young children being medicated. with psychotropic drugs. would not recommend.
