Dr. Meredith Brooke Watson-Locklear, MD

We booked an appointment for our first visit for pregnancy. This is our first child and to say we are stressed is to put it mildly. We had been very much looking forward to this appointment to help us out and provide guidance and assurance. When the appointment was booked, we were NOT made aware of any risk or group rules that could prevent being taken as a patient. When we went to the appointment, I was not allowed back with my wife. Not really cool with that, I can understand COVID protocols, but I was told that I could be there for the ultrasound, which confused me. Why not allow me in there to be with my wife except at the end? I promptly complied and did not hesitate to stay in the waiting room as asked. My wife and I texted each other a few times and then she stopped suddenly. She came back several minutes later visibly distressed and crying. She was informed that due to her age and other issues, he would not be picked up as a patient and she was given two other offices… to call that might be able to see her due to being high risk. The receptionist was sure quick to charge us for the visit however. If this is how you and your staff practice medicine, you have failed. I would not want you as my doctor, heartless. No one was came out with her, or let her or the receptionist know to NOT charge for the visit. She was so visibly shaken and upset, heavy tears. She did not tell me until we were out of the office and in the parking lot. Such an unprofessional and cold way to speak with a soon-to-be mother who is already apprehensive and nervous. Why call yourself a doctor that specializes in high risk births when you do not allow high risk patients? Why does you staff book appointments without properly screening new patients when this is an issue?

First time as a patient of Dr Locklear and I had the best experience made me feel so at ease very funny and would absolutely recommend anybody to see her

This office gave me SUCH a run around. I was told to get a referral from my primary care (my insurance says I DO NOT need preauthorization for being pregnant to see an OB-GYN) so after I finally got my referral I was told they could not see me because I was AROUND 20 weeks. They said after I got my referral they could schedule my appt but then gave me the run around yet again. They told me they could not see me after 20 weeks so being 20 weeks and being AROUND 20 weeks are 2 different things. They also said because I’m switching insurances they could not schedule me right away because I did not have their insurance they accepted at that moment but I could do this at the same office in lake Nona? Made no sense to me. I’d give them negative 5 stars if I could. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DEALING WITH THEIR FRONT DESK MEMBERS.

Dr. Watson-Locklear was referred to my by my regular GYN for the above procedure and I was skeptical as she was young but after meeting her all was good. Surgery went great on Nov 30, 2018 and went up and beyond placing the incisions as I mentioned to her, I look showing my stomach so I don't need holes showing everywhere so she blended on in to my tattoo on my stomach and you can't even see it so, you ROCK Doc and Thank you for no more painful cycles.

I was extremely pleased with this referral.
