Dr. Michael A. Andreo, MD

I wish I had taken a look at this page before making an appointment with Dr. Andreo. I had the same experience during my appointment. My visit with him was the same as the other ppl who posted on here. He has no bedside manner and is not interested in patients' health. I was treated with dismissiveness, unkindness, and the most uncaring treatment I've ever received during a medical appointment (and I'm not a spring chicken). HE told me I have arthritis; They require a referral from the specialist. He refused to do this, saying I have to see my PCP, despite his confirming the diagnosis. Shame on him; if he is not interested in providing medical care, he shouldn't be in practice. BTW, the orthopedist I got a second opinion from at UT Dell Med was able to accommodate my request for the referral within hours. If you want a doctor who is invested in you and healthy medical outcomes, he is NOT the one to see!!!

Dr. Andrea was very kind, positive and energetic. He replaced my ACL about 11 years ago (using part of my hamstring, I don't remember the technical terms) when I was about 30. I had torn that thing straight through and had to have pre-surgery rehab, so it was pretty messed up. I'm 41 now and my knee is doing great. I'm playing soccer, playing with my kids, riding my bike, not a knee care in the world.

I have seen him in the past for a different reason, and its always the same thing, he is 1-2 hours behind. This time my appointment was at 8am, I still had to wait over 1 hour before seen by his tech, just to be told that they are going to do an x-ray before he can see me. I waited another 30 minutes & still no one came, so I had enough & walked out. I have never been to an office where the doctor does not examine you first and then determines if the X-ray is even needed. He will not allow you to go somewhere else to do the X-ray because they make extra $$$ by doing it in-house, while you sit there & wait. Why? They claim they take better X-ray! Really?! Complete waste of my time, and I had to pay for parking. Never going back again. Ortho doctors are plenty in Austin, and he is NOT the best to be worth putting up with all this stress.

I have used Dr. Andreo as my doctor since 2002, he has always provided me with great treatment. I would recommend him to my friends and family.

Dr. Andreo operated my fractured hip, and he did a great job. I am most grateful and highly recommend him.

He is really bad.no kidding he's got such bad reviews! The only good thing is the ease of appointment(that may be because no one wants to see him?). He sounded very confused and doesn't want to listen to what I have to say. Do yourself a favor...do not go to him.

He always explained himself well. And really helped me when he found out I did not have insurance. He had his office staff help show me what I needed to get and where in the area I might find it cheaper. He also worked with me to heal as well as I could, with tips about bathing with a broken arm to other things I could do that would help. I have a healed arm with no pins.

BEST Orthopedic surgeon in the state by far!

I never thought I would rate someone so bad...but this man is really bad. I am writing this review just because I dont want any else to waste their money and time on this man like me. He was rude, very judgemental, very hasty in taking decisions...it finally felt like he was there to collect my money. Please go to to another doctor...this guy is not even worth a try.
